Cannot get game to work
Hello,
I am trying to put "The Dawn of the Tiberian Age" on one of my computers and it is giving me an error. The computer has xp as the operating system and the error message is something to the effect that it could not load "file or assembly" clientcore, version 1.16.4.9. I have attached a picture of the error message.
This is weird because I have another computer with windows 10 and that worked fine.

So do I need to kill my anti-virus? Can you make them allow certain programs.
I think you might be right, but it seems a bit weird. I currently use advast on both my xp computer and windows 10 computer. But I only have a problem with the mod only my xp one.
I am also having a similar problem I think with CnC Net's Yuri's Revenge. Maybe that is my anti-virus too.
I will have to look into at some point tomorrow. Any ideas to point me in the right direction?

I'm not certain that it's your anti-virus software; I'm just saying that anti-virus software is one possible cause.

CnCNet Yuri's Revenge uses the exact same client as DTA.

I doubt the problem is Windows XP (or the client's compatibility with XP) itself, but consider upgrading from XP to a newer operating system if you can; very few of the projects' staff who use the client are running XP anymore and so the amount of testing we're able to do on XP is very limited. Hey I got an error as well and can't start the newest version - the error appeared since I tried updating my older version to the newest one few weeks ago. Since then it is not working.
I have win7 x84 and the mod was running quite well before...
Now I get this message:
"KABOOOOOOOM
Dawn of the Tiberium Age has crashed. Error message:
Text contains characters that cannot be resolved by this SpriteFont. Parameter name: text
If the issue is repeatable, contact the DTA staff at ppmforums.com/index.php?f=504."
The problem repeats every time I try to run the DTA.exe QUICK_EDIT

It sounds like you have the same issue, with probably arabic or some other non-ascii based language characters.
Bottom line
Make sure you update to the latest version.

Lin Kuei I just remembered that I switched my Win to Russian about a month ago because of a Russian game that was only showing me some jubberish. Now I switched back to English - the original language of my Windows is English...
