What with the Scavengers's preference for speed and mobility, some of the more suicidal members rig old cars with any explosive devices they can get their hands on instead of jury-rigging heavier, slower truck bombs. The Martyr is completely no frills, no armor whatsoever with explosives dangling all over it's exterior, just waiting for a stray bullet to set them off. That's mostly the point though - using it's high speed to charge straight into enemies and detonating as close to them as possible, a direct hit inflicting maximum damage to anything caught in the blast. The blast radius is quite small though, making it more suited for destroying strategic targets than causing widespread collateral damage. To compensate, it is often loaded with flammable materials which can set survivors on fire, damaging and even possibly destroying them in the aftermath. Being mostly devoid of any electronics also makes it less susceptible to hacking.
