Looks like a minecraft-ified UAW.

This actually seems better than the previous "8-bit" games, since according to the bullet list it actually has something to play. Maybe I'll buy it if the price is low enough.

Quote:

  • 24 offline campaign missions.
  • 10 co-op missions to play with your friends.

Are those campaign missions still slightly scripted skirmishes?

Yeah as far as I know all the 8-bit RTS Campaigns are just basically skirmish missions with special objectives.

Ya but that is what most RTS games are. And I maybe be speaking for my self when I say I do not buy/play RTS for its "campaign". I will say a nice story makes a game more fun, and if you read the mission briefing there is a very simple story in place.

If you want an RPG go play an RPG...  Confused

Well compared to Grey Goo anyway... the 8-Bit's story is very non-existant. It's basically "Here's Aliens and Space Marines Factions and they hate each other"

The Campaigns from what I've played are just:
"Destroy all enemy units"
"Finish this Mission in 15 minutes"
"Don't Build more than X number of Plants"

I've enjoyed my time with 8-Bit Armies (am yet to play Hordes), but the campaigns have indeed been a let down. Compared to Red Alert 2's missions for example, they're really uninspired and lackluster, ultimately quite boring all in all with the exception of a few of the Guardians campaign missions. Non-the-less, I still enjoyed the game and am looking forward to this installment too.

Considering the pace at which Petro is pumping these games out, anything better would be a surprise.

I'm not expecting anything better, it's just a shame it ended up being that way.
