After of use the v2.1 with a little number of resized Tiberian Sun buildings (for my RA2 mod) to fix "pixel by pixel" the major number of bad pixels of the resize & I found a little bug after of play in-game... I made 2 screenshots with 2 different situations (please, see you the odd effect with the GDI Conyard the Titan & the power Turbines of the Power Plant).

The second image is a strange solution that I saw to fix the buildings bug in-game (moving the screen down of all & return up of all... where is the GDI base).

I saw that each the .SHP file that I edited with BS SHP Builder 2.1 was "aproximated" a 50% more big (why... if only I recoloured.... I haven't added new frames... i.e. 33KB of the original shp file & after of save... 67KB Rolling Eyes )

PD: Today, I found the method to fix the graphic/size problem. Using XCC mixer to export as pcx files & return again into shp file Very Happy

BS SHP Builder saves bigger files, due to it saving in Compression 1, XCC saves in Compression 3.

(open a file BS SHP Builder made into BS SHP Builder, then open the preview, do the same for a XCC file, note the compression value)

Note: i seriously doubt the con yard over the titan is anything to do with the SHP file, if it was the file u wouldn't see that part of the titan at all, the game is the one that decides what parts go over what (rememeber SHP's are flat images, they have no depth unlike VXL's so there is no way the SHP can b responsible for going on top or under when it shouldn't b)

I forgot the Compression value of the program Very Happy

Yes, but why happens this strange effect with the same .ini code? (only I used the new modified image overwriting the old)

To solve this I exported the new shp into .pcx (xcc mixer), imported again in shp, I overwrited again the file & voilá, graphics fixed (the reconverted shp file is with compression 3 of the XCC mixer).

If my memory isn't wrong... only was necessary the "compression 1" to the game cursors (if you used the "compresion 3" on this shp will appear corrupted in-game) the rest of the things worked fine with "compression 3"

Sorry, but with your permision I preffer say: this could be possible by the compression 1 of the file? Rolling Eyes

to more info of my machine:
CPU: P3 at 800MHz EB
RAM: 192MB SDRAM
HD: 40 GB
OS: WINXP SP1
Graphic Card: Nvidia TNT2 32 MB (shared with my RAM)

Note: I never saw strange effects when I play RA2/YR except by experiments with my mod Laughing

EDITED POST:

I made the same conversion with the XCC Mixer to export as .pcx & I made again the shp BUT this time with the option of compression "disabled".
I have the same result that with the default compression 3 & only fails the shp version of this program. Confused

I think it has to do with the size of your SHP. (the outlines). I recently discovered that this bad "Z-sorting" (that's how it's called) is caused by the image filesize that's wrong. I will give an example.

I made a new Tiberium plant. The SHP's size ended up to be 83x79 (i had cut it out). However, sometimes parts of this plant would appear BEHIND other plants while infact it stood IN FRONT of these other plants.

So what i did, i copied the SHP as .PCX, and changed the canvas size to 96x96 in PsP. (I had noticed that 96x96 was commonly used for TS buildings/objects.) Then i copied it as SHP again and inserted it in an ecache.

The problem was gone!

Now what should you do, open XCC Mixer and just look at the sizes of several buildings in RA2. Common sizes for TS seem to be 96x96, 144x96, 144x144,192x192 etc..

Then do the same as i did. Don't be afraid of a larger filesize, you'll only add background color that doesn't take up much space in Compression level 1.
