I tried to set the game resolution to my screen resolution that is 2560x1440
Then I can't see the sidebar, I can't even quit because there is no menu on the right.
What resolutions does ares support? and what's best for such a screen?

I don't think Ares affects the resolution. YR plays upto 1800 height with
sidebar and all without any problem and certainly 2560x1440. It crashes
on anything above 1800 height.

To keep in mind:
- desktop resolution should be equal or higher than the YR resolution
- DPI should be set to default 100% for higher resolutions.
- If using custom resolution (non-standard), then play in windowed mode.

With hacks, TS can now play in 4K resolution too.

Higher resolution doesn't mean it is comfortable, 1600x900 or 1920x1080
are just fine.

Do you calibrated your monitor when ingame?
If you actually see something but parts are outside the screen, then it's most likely your monitor needs to be calibrated for this resolution (see monitor menu for "auto-adjust" or something like that, so the monitor centers and fits in the image correct again).

Thanks for reply
It was the DPI (175%)
Now I get it work but it's super lagging Confused
Any way to play it in a windowed mode without changing my display to 16-bit color?

Also note that small maps could be smaller than high resolutions and give some major annoying issues. Turf War I think was the worst offender for being very thin.

I'll admit that with resolutions 1280x and above, I can't bring myself to make a map under 70 in any direction anymore, usually more like 120x90. I've tried a few and just ended up expanding them anyway...

Since I have 3 test setups, 1360x768, 1680x1050, 1920x1080, I can get a good sense of how small a map feels, and my rule of thumb is that 1680 should be the sweet spot, that should cover the broadest range.
