Since it's not possible to change the height search light is coming from, the structure would also have to be quite large in comparison to other DTA structures (even the lighthouse is smaller).

Isn't the height controllable somehow?
There should be flag somewhere, no way Westwood din't make that customizable, at least globaly.

And if they didn't, can't you hack/crack the EXE somehow?

no, spotlight has only the following keys
; Some spotlight controls
SpotlightSpeed=.015     ; speed in radians
SpotlightMovementRadius=2000 ; offset of center of arc sweep
SpotlightLocationRadius=1000 ; offset from building
SpotlightAcceleration=.0025    ; acceleration in radians
SpotlightAngle=.5       ; maximum suggest angle of arc sweep

interesting though, the exe has another key
SpotlightRadius
no clue if that works and what exactly it does different to SpotlightLocationRadius


not everyone can hack the exe, and those that can do it, have likely more important things to hack/fix.

I saw theres a lighthouse so i thought maybe it could be easy to add. I'm not complaining it's a really great mod.

well, you can change the lighthouse in your map to use the spotlight.
Just add following code to your map
Code:
[LHUS]
HasSpotlight=true


if you also want to change the spotlight behaviour, you also have to add
Code:
[General]

then play around with these values

P.S.: no, you can't remove the lighthouse default rotating light in a map, as this is an activeanim set in art.ini, while art.ini stuff can't be changed in maps.
