Monero mining while playing RA2...
I suspected this might be the case, but on my Gigabyte 7950 bios flashed into an R9 280 with core clock and core voltage lowered from 1072@1.25v to 1025@1.125v there's basically zero performance hit.
Inside the game I don't really notice anything slower although there might be if you use a super-accurate framerate counter, and Claymore doesn't register a performance drop outside of normal variation.
Monero aka XMR is one of those coins that uses a very small subset of functions on a gpu, and thus usually uses a lot less power than hashing say Ethereum based tokens. Knowing RA2 isn't real 3D means the entire 3D capability is freed up for mining, but I was still expecting some performance hit.
Pleasantly surprised.
PS. I get terrible errors with Claymore 10.2 with the recommended settings, or much slower with settings I'm used to, yet 9.7 seems to hash almost as fast without the errors.
