Subject description: Final Alert tree help

Dear PPM community,
I kindly ask for help regarding trees type >TREE31, TREE32, TREE33,TREE34,TREE35 and TREE36<. I have placed them without problems in Final Alert (temperate climate), but they aren't shown when I start a game in skirmish to check for problems (when trying to move to a location where tree is, the cursor shows something is there).
Any ideas what is causing this to happen and how to correct it.
Also please help me identify that water dinosaur.
I am trying to make a prehistoric map (in look) like one in Soviet campaign mission 1, since I haven't yet came across one in map archive on this site.

A quick check shows their artwork don't exist on Temperate theater, only on NewUrban.

Correct, except that they also exist in Desert & Lunar theater (basically, those trees were added in Yuri's Revenge and were not ported back to RA2-introduced theaters).

FA2 falls back to displaying artwork using different theater's file in case it is missing (which it really shouldn't do) and because it just so happens to be from Desert, which also has identical palette to Temperate, you can't really even tell anything's wrong on editor's side. On the plus side, makes it really easy to port the files over to Temperate.

I dont think YR has so many infantry units that you cant try to find the dinosaur yourself...

You are not able to find "DNOB" the brachiosaurus because it is in the ignore list.

In your Fa2 directory there is a file called FAData.ini, open the file in a text editor.

Go to this section

; things only FinalAlert will ignore
; these are usually all dummies and leftovers from TS
[IgnoreRA2]


On line 525 you should find.
Code:

97=DNOB;?


Add a ';' at the start of that line to comment out that Ignore rule. (Like what's shown below.)

EDIT* I just checked playing YR (Unknown about vanilla Ra2), I have a few temperate maps that I have DNOB on, and it shows just fine ingame. You shouldn't have to mod the game to use DNOB for temperate maps, snow or desert I do not know. Just comment out the ignore rule and you it should work.
