Is there a way to edit a random generated map in red alert 2?

When you run Ares, go to options -> keyboard -> Development -> MapSnapshot and assign a hotkey. Then later when you generate a random map and start playing the map, press the assigned hotkey and find the map in the game folder.

Try sorting files by date and refreshing the folder or do a search for files recently created on your computer.

Slightly offtopic but I could have sworn there was a simpler way to do this in the past that worked just fine altho for Tiberian Sun (Firestorm 2.03) instead of RA2 / RA2:YR and without the need of like Ares for RA2:YR, that I used for a TibSun random generated map that I edited and made into a 5p skirmish map without having to regenerate it each time and that I edited quite alot to make it prettier and better and add daylight cycle and ion storms on. (Unless I am misstaken. Laughing)

For whatever reason I am unable to remember how to do it now tho and unable to replicate / recreate said conditions to make a normal map out of a random generated one. (Do not remember how I did it many years ago on another computer).
(Making a map via TibSun Firestorm v2.03 built in random map generator and making it a normal map that can be opened with like Final Sun.)

EDIT: Crap it seems it might have been tied to version of Tiberian Sun or to the Extended Tiberian Sun according to: http://www.tiberiumweb.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2343 and http://ppmforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=19997
And I was using ETS on my old computer but not on this computer (I think I did when I made the map but not 100% sure)(do not even have my private TS mod on this computer Sad)

Too bad TibSun 2.03 and RA2:YR or even RA2:YR with ARES do not have automatic saving of RNG maps to .map / .yrm like older TibSun / ETS does/did and having to resort to using that map snapshot function.

Apparently there is a function in CnCNet for this too it appears btw:
