"Every great mod, as with its creator, starts small..."
=====
I remember...

It's in the ConquerGaming forums (now closed due to inactivity), and it was still new. The first ever post in that forum was made by me, and it was to ask a particularly newbie's question about modding.

ArgCmdr, the famous modder from Argentina, came and replied. But later on, he started calling me a newbie, another small time guy in the community...

I took that underestimating as a challenge. I believe he's a great modder, but his attitude towards newbies in the community will never make him better.
=====
Later on, I thought about making a mod. Before the day ended, I was almost exhausted from brainstorming.

The product...
=====
Siberian Strikers is a PC (Partial Convertion) mod for C&C Yuri's Revenge that aims to offer the player a very wide array of strategies and units to choose from, making a single, superior strategy almost impossible.
=====

Let's get informal. First, I consider this mod a PC because it completely wipes out Yuri's Army from the game...except from some weapons, of course.

Second, Yuri will be replaced by the Siberian Eagles, an army born from Yuri's top advisers and utilizing weapons of very bizzare and amazing technologies. Story will come soon...

Finally, all I can get to you is this file:

http://www.geocities.com/avianknight/Units.rtf

It contains the concept of the new SS units. Actually there are more concepts, but those are a 'little bit impossible' to make and so I decided not to show it. That's all for now.

You mean you consider it a TC (Total Conversion). If it removes one side and keeps the others, it's a kind of Half Conversion. But anyway, if you need any support, we'll be here to help you. Smile

Yeah, thanks for the offer, but I do not want it now.

BTW, any comments on the units?

As far as I checked, Democron won`t work as you expect. By being a suicide weapon and acurate and by its chrono abilities, a build limit for it is useless.

Another thing is the lack of defenses from soviets against the democron... I think you should scrap that unit. The other allied and soviet units are ok. I`ll read the SE units later...

Thanks for the advice. The SE units...well, they are very vulnerable to changes as of now.

The planning stage is about...hmm...65% complete.

As you can see, I have given most units a 'companion' or 'complement'. Ex: Grizzly-Leopard-Tank Destroyer, V3 Launcher-Cataclysm-Proton, Ragnarok-Thor-Odin, Aircraft Carrier-Escort Carrier, Battleship-Dreadnought, Destroyer-Sea Hsadow.

Another basis for units is variation. Ex:

While the Odin is powerful against most things, it needs a Thor for AA and Ragnaroks for infantry/tank rushes.

An updated Units Info and the Story will come on my next visit.
