Speed of the units can be set at the Locomotor.ini (check your INI.Big) Also inside the Ini.BiG... in the Data/Object/ directory, you have a big set of ini files that defines the settings of your units, including the BuildCost=. Check the files starting with America***, China**** and GLA****. _________________

Hey, I did some searching myself and found those files already (Banshee) but how can you edit them properly ? Using XCC I extracted the America..this that and so on, I edited them but had to change the BIG file to a .MIX so I could delete/insert the files I edited, I then renamed the the .MIX back to a .BIG file, then upon trying to run the game, it says I encountered a serious error, etc etc ...
So is there a different program you use to edit these files ?
Its alot more trouble to edit these than the rules.ini for TS ... QUICK_EDIT
Thanks Banshee, I have found a website w\ the finalbig editor 0.2, I have tried using it but when opening the INIZH.big file in it, if you try to "add" a file to it, such as an altered .ini file, it says "save file as mydocuments\......." and it saves it as a whole new directory and file w\in the .big file itself...
Using the finalbig editor, the .ini game files are displayed as
"Data\INI\filename"
So, this isnt working, how am I able to get into the INI directory to edit the .ini files, windows does not show any files in the Data/INI folder itself, it shows the folder as "empty" ...
So, how do you do this thing ?
I already extracted the .ini files from the BIG file when I renamed it to a .MIX the first time. The ones I speak of are like those you mentioned b4, AmericaAir.ini, SpecialPowerObjects.ini, AmericaVehicles.ini etc and I have edited them as well, its just, how to get them into the BIG file now, so they will become active in the game :: scratches head ::
When I edited those ini files the first time, they remained in their previous form, so, I didn't change anything of their properties.. What I've tried doing was simply, using FinalBig to open the INIZH.bigfile, to replace those few ini files in it, w\ the ones I edited...

or place these files on your GeneralsorZHDir/Data/Ini/
I tried placing the files I edited, into that folder, to no avail ... QUICK_EDIT
The .BIG files store the path of each files and how they are organized. The files on the BIG file are not in your HD, unless you extract them. It's like a ZIP file, but it's not compressed. QUICK_EDIT
Ok Banshee, Thanx, say, I went to that site, dlded the file, have tried using it, I notice it even said
"This version now adds external editor support, meaning you can directly edit all files inside the BIG without extracting first."
Welp, I clicked on "AmericaVehicle.ini" and tried to do the "Edit w\ Editor" but it gave me an error, saying
"cannot find the C:\Documents and Settings\...\Dekstop\finalbig036b\FBTempAmericaVehicle.ini file",
this thing seems to be suggesting, I needed to extract that file to the above listed directory, however, remember, the program was said to be able to directly edit all the files w\ out having to extract them first .... And so, it asks me if I want to create a new file,so its basically doing what the version 0.2 was doing, when I said it was placing a whole new directory/file in the .big file ....
I tried to go to their forums but I got this error
"phpBB : Critical Error
Error creating new session
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error : 1114 The table 'phpbb_sessions' is full
I dont know why this is all trying to be so difficult : \
UPDATING>>>>
Actually, am not sure if theprogram was like that already but, I did go into the "View" menu and under "Options" chose to add an extension and editor, .ini for wordpad... again, not sure, but I did end up editing text right there in the finalbig program itself, and saved the big file and thats all it was to it, now my changes are active in the game, Thanx ^_~ QUICK_EDIT
yea, well, nowI've tried using that version you gave me a link to, to edit the INI.big of Generals, not ZH but regular Generals...
There seems to be some kind of write protection on the INI ??
Do you know anything about that Banshee ?
When I go to open INI.big, FInalBig opens it, and says "opened in read mode only, remove write protection and open again" ...
I don't understand that, since I opened the INIZH.big w\ no problem ...
UPDATE::
I found a solution to the problem...
I simply needed to right click the INI.big file and change its file attributes (uncheck the read-only attrib) and now it worx perfect .. I like to leave things like this on the board, incase someone has the same erm problem ^_~ QUICK_EDIT

Just click on the file, then click on the text area you want to add to/edit, then press any letter or number key, and it should ask if you want to activate internal editing or something like that, then click yes and you should be able to do it. Just delete what you pressed to activate it first. _________________
