Why is Generals so slow?

I bought Generals today and it rocks, majorly. Finally a C&C game like C&C 95: WAR, PURE WAR, no idiocy. No disruptors, visceroids, prism tanks, master minds or any idiotic fictitius technology. We have a real war game with real war musics (finally). The game itself rocks, but... erm... it's too slow, but it's not my computer's fault. The game itself is set tp be slow. Soldiers makes very small steps and vehicles take a long time to accelerate and move very slow... I'm thinking seriously about downloading that Lightning Mod...

you should, speeding up the game cant hurt, unless it gets too fast.

and also the game crashes a lot here... just like they say "technical difficulties".... If that EA crappy movie didnt appeared in the beggining, I'd think it was made by Micro$oft.

If Halo wasnt so good I would think they were made by Micro$oft... ... Wink

I knew C&C Generals would be a great game. I cant wait till I play it! I havent seen the box yet, but my friend says the box art looks so cool hes going to buy Generals instead of 1944.

I would believe it was made by Micro$oft, because of the excess of errors in the game. But today I've found out that the speed is not locked in skirmish and it really gets much better on maximum Very Happy

one of the reasons i dont want generals cos its in the present, and it has sucky morden weapons. if i wanted stuf fliek that, id go join the army

True I always liked the disruptoe type units because it takes me away from this time we live and puts me some where else.

Tapek there are hero units, US has Colonel Burton, China has Black Lotus, GLA has Jarmen Kell. Gameplay can be described as repetetive but no-one (well not me anyway) ever expected anything groundbreaking from generals, Its an evolution not a revolution.
