anybody can crush a brutal AI in Five min. the point is are you good enough to hold them off for that long. i can, so can you? try it on a map like Wild Animal Park, because it is big, has oil, and has plenty of points to catch the emey off guard.

Better yet, play on MayDay, one choke point + heaps of oil + an additional passage that the AI is too dumb to use.
Or Bay of Pigs, even more oil and it's pretty easy to create a single choke point by popping the bridges.

Or even a random map with plenty of ore would do it...

i like mayday cause then when i build a chronosphere, i can teleport enemy units right into the ocean.  i make chokepoints in Wild Animal Park too by knocking out bridges, and if am starting out int he top right-hand corner, i just blow all the bridges and only aircraft can get me.  with Air Wars, though, things can still get pretty messy....

Yup,then youd need 30 flak tracks just to keep your miners safe.

No, they can't get past 30 flak tracks. And yes,I enjoed Air Wars a lot.But the only mistake you made is that you didn't make it an XCC mod by download. Then it would be perfect!!!

@Desolated Sniper I hope that you do that. We'll be wayting!

i already got a few in mind. expect the next big upgrade sometime in late spring/early summer, with smaller improvements from now until then.  the first thing i'm gonna fix is the tech level on the Tornado, cause i've noticed that sometimes the AI sends them before you have any air defenses. after that, i'll find stuff and would love it if you gave me suggestions in "The War is Over" topic, cause this one ain't about Air Wars. Against massed AI, when playing as soviet the best thing to do is make Rhinos. Lots of them.
(Especially if playing against 6 CannisRules Brutals on Stacked Odds)

Hey king of lameness, I could add the merge thread mod if I wanted, but I don't want. It's not worth, because I'll do an uber update on this forum by the end of the year, so I'll have to apply the merge thread mod again... In fact, a good part of this topic deserves a spot at Crap forum, but I'll let DCoder decide that...

i would actually prefer if this topic was Renamed as "Air Wars Improvement Discussion" and leave the war is over topic for future release downloads only.

I wasn't aware that you were planning to add that mod (or update the engine), but if a forum needs a mod to do something as basic as topic merging/attachments/subforums, then that forum is lame in my opinion.

And, since you're the boss, and my "lest" clause is no longer valid... topic split and renamed. Again...

phpBB unmodded is lame, I agree. But when we mod it properly, it becomes much better than IPB, imho.

But you have to reinstall the mods each time you update it. (What mods make it better than IPB, anyway? Aside from the fact that IPB costs $$.)

Laughing Ask sleipnir. He works wonders with phpBB. What other forums have a perfectly emulated FF8 Triple Triad card game?

Ahem. Please, read the new topic name.

So I suggest that AW also makes infantry smaller by 25% and slower by 10% so that there is bigger realism.

i like the bigger infantry. more detail. one thing that i may do is give them some cool firing anims, cause that is one thing that they definitely lack.

on the topic of air transportation, expect something like a chinook/skycrane for transportation of infantry and vehicles.

if it's a transport, then that's what they'll get.  they already have the Mi-28 Havoc attack chopper.

Goshs, i don't think i'll think i'll need a picture. i'll get a blueprint becasue they are much more accurate and useful to me.  as for a stinger site, i dunno. i was thinking more along the lines of a AAA battery, something cheaper than the Patriot Missiles/Flak Cannon/Gattling cannon. it won't be a powered base defense, but it also won't do as much damage, so it's a trade off.
