SW Interview with Tiberium Odyssey
In a shocking spell of activity, I've managed to obtain an exclusive interview with Morpher and Muldrake about Tiberian Odyssey. If you haven't heard of this mod, you've been living under a rock for the past few months and deserved to be hung by your fingernails until you apologise. You may find out more about the mod here. You may find the interview (with three shots exclusive to Savage War) here.
Here's just a quick snippet of it:
I want Tiberium Odyssey to be an enjoyable mod for fans, which also has more than a usual mod, a campaign and storyline, our own vision of what happens after TS, and trying to keep it true to the time line before it. We want to give TO an atmosphere which is based on TS' but at the same time with more depth. We are hoping to make the most out of the TS engine as possible, and we are taking on some large tasks which will be revealed hopefully soon.
Here's a quick show of the kind of effort and quality that has been put into the mod so far, we can still expect far more from this and it should end up being absolutely fantastic in the end.
Ooooooooh Ackron youre sooooooooooooo cool, that comment was reaaaaaaaaaaally needed, informative and worthwhile of my time and bandwidth.
Edit - Oh no wait, no it wasnt, it was stupid, pointless and gay. Please dont do it again.
as was the rest of the posts, besides elerium and muldrake's posts
try acting more mature instead.
clazzy at least made his comment in a manner of a warning
as for me, keep up the good work
however i find it odd R-more isn't mentioned in this, he after all is working his ass off on the buildings , and people look at his work like it's a piece of meat lying around
making models takes effort and time, if you're going to make comments, at least make them of some use to the author , instead of saying in a childish manner : i don't like it
at least show some appreciation to the effort of making graphics _________________ Micro TS
Portable, no campaign, movies or music, just the engine and needed resources for skirmish and lan. QUICK_EDIT
It is known that the building modeler for Nod is R-moremen, and anyone who checks the forums will also know that. People do not think of his work as a piece of meat lying around as I do see many comments in polls / topics such as the Hand of Nod topic. Also thank you for the oppurtinity for that interview clazzy.
Also, R-moremen knows how much the staff value his great efforts, and I'm sure other people who see his work respect him for the great buildings that he makes, and his effort towards their creation. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
ViPr, I can not say I have ever seen you compliment a artists work? You really should try to stop nit picking about everything and offering suggestions while never offering encouragement. QUICK_EDIT
Yes, HEAR HEAR R-more-men is a class act, as is the rest of the Odyssey team (perphaps with one exception), excellent work and a groovy little read that interview was. Keep up the good work.. RELEASE, RELEASE! _________________ I am uber. I am teh 3|_17e|\|355
R-moremen REALLY is a class act, his models are top quality, he does them quickly and without complaint and is a generally good person, he is also incredibly creative. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Forgive me, but ive noticed that for the most part, infintry in C&C are generally pretty useless unless its for super early AA defense or its a "special" unit (such as a Hijacker).
Were any changes besides graphically made that could/might signifigantly change how infintry work?
Just some random suggestion for some other mod/this mod to do to infintry:
How about only infintry can gain ranks? Or, make it so other units such as Tanks+ect dont get any bonuses for vet status besides better accuracy, and make it so infintry can become whole new and more better/improved weapons that rival a light vehicle themselves when they are vet status.
Mabey have it so infintry cost ALOT less (assuming a normal tank would cost around 750), such as 25/50 credits for an average infintry, and around 80-100 for a rocket? This way, you can really make infintry attack in large masses (realistic?) by not having 1/4 of a tank's cost. Of course, its usefullness should be affected by this price. But if you add the veterancy system like above, you can make a squad/platoon of infintry a VERY considerable threat if the infintry have stayed alive long enough to get a vet status.
Those might just be some, basic, less technical idea's to make infintry more usefull.
Mabey I should post a new thread about this
And your mod is one of the top mod's I am looking forward too! 2006 IMO is DEFINATLY the year of EXCELENT mods for the C&C Community (TO, Exodus, Norvus Ordo, Yuri Squared, ect) QUICK_EDIT

The whole majority of that thread should be in TO forums, definatly. And EVERYTHING....will be better. this is like a cross between the Tiberian Sun of your wet dreams, and the TT/Continuum concepts. aka...
This mod will probably be better then retro.(no offence, Smiff.)
Edit: A squad consists of five infantry, a platoon is made up of multiple squads(like three or four), a platoon sgt. and platoon leader. So you only need like 30 E1s for a platoon. _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT
