How can i make a new GUI ( main menu )

any1 know how to recolour the main menu + the buttons?

Open XCC Mixer, look in the RA2 Directory. Double-click RA2.MIX, and then double-click side01.mix or side02.mix. These are the gui files, and you can extract one, by right clicking, but as far as the main menu, I cannot help you there. The instructions I gave you are for in-game gui, like the sidebar and activation of the radar animation.

Either browse the MIX files like the above guy said, and extract the files as pcx, edit, convert back to shp, or edit the palette used for them.

Check out http://yrarg.cncguild.net/downloads/shpso.htm , there already is a blue, green, and yellow/orange recolored versions provided.

ok how can i edit the pallete files
withour generally fu*king up the pic im trying to change ??

save your image as an 8 bit image (256 colors).
extract the palette using xcc mixer (right-click, save as pal)
