The mod needs a Terrain artist who can use the TMP Editor 1.05 thoroughly. If interested, contact me. Please note, terrain is expected to be done in a cell-shaded style. QUICK_EDIT
I love the site, so awesome....having industrial-techno in the background while the legions of shyguys march away! _________________ Delirium.. QUICK_EDIT

I'd most likely pick the Mario music! Is the music itself copyrighted or anything? It's the only thing I'm not clear on. _________________

We might not be using the songs, but given a choice between Mario music and Klepacki...which would you choose?
Why not having both? You could combine some songs both from tunes Frank Klepacki made and tunes from Super Mario. Or having a more heavy version of the super mario tunes. _________________

nice work but everything Nintendo is copyright obviously and they are gonna smash this mod when they find out about it.
besides the copyright, Nintendo will not allow anything Nintendo to work on any hardware that is not Nintendo which i would totally agree with if their hardware was by far the best in the world but it's around the worst. QUICK_EDIT

Jack the music for Super Smash Brothers: Melee...especially the 'Princess Peach's Castle' theme. _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT

Perhaps if they're planning a Mario RTS. It's not like he's making a copy of a game which would be available on a nintendo system so they might not have as much problem with it. Especially since it's not named 'Mario RTS - Mushroom Wars!' or something.

So as long as you spend the most powerful hardware you should be allowed to keep all your franchises to yourself but lower down the scale you have to share them? The fact that nintendo have some of the best franchises as their sole property is what keeps their console sales afloat.
I see no reason for them to need the most powerful console if they can produce games which are worth playing on the system it'll make it more valuable to me. I bought a GameCube as I liked the games that were released for it and I didn't get an xbox or PS2 because although they have a wider variety of games - they interest me less. I wouldn't buy an xbox 360 for that reason - none of the titles interest me, I don't care if it's the most powerful you can buy as of the moment. QUICK_EDIT
reminds me of MadHq's tesla turtle if this mod will use it.
None of our mod will use resources from other mods or mod reasource sites. Everything will be made from scratch, and will be original since we're adding our own feel to the characters, vehicles, buildings, terrain, and interface.
there are plenty of nintendo music files available for download on the internet. it seems there is not something wrong with distributing them because an emulation site that refuses to give game roms does give game music in the various midi formats that are specific to the consoles.
i think these files were extracted automatically from the game roms by emulators and when played back through other emulators i think they should sound exactly like the original consoles whereas general midi files do not sound correct because the intruments are replaced by other intruments. i'm not sure if these console specific midi files can be converted automatically to general midi files so you can edit them to create your own remixes. there are sites that have some general midi files of mario music although many of them sound weird. I revoke my earlier statement about needing a terrain artist. I've just about mastered the art of creating terrain. You lucky dogs'll get to see the new theater once I have it completed. It'll be an in-game screenshot! Stay tuned! Last edited by IcySon55 on Sun Jan 22, 2006 11:46 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
to do cell shaded terrain you don't even need a texture or you can use a texture that has 1 pixel. and btw cell shaded cartoons don't use cell shaded backgrounds; the backgrounds are proper paintings. QUICK_EDIT

If the grass was one color, it would look more like nuclear waste: a nice bright green. Not a pleasent thing to look at for more than a couple of minutes. I couldn't even imagine what the dirt would look like...
Seems a lot of people want some 'Mario' music in this TC. Personally, I find the works of Koji Kondo to be more on the 'happier' side of things. That's great for a Mario game, but not for this one. I know there are plenty of sites that offer midis but neither myself nor Icy know the fine art of 'remixing'. As for sites that offer remixes, I haven't been able to find any songs that match the same vibe as Klepacki's tunes. I guess my standards are too high. _________________

Will we see more enviorments then Sub-Con? Like the classic SMB? Kongo Jungle, Yoshi's Island? Maybe even Dreamland, Hyrule, or Brinstar? _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT

Sub-Con, Classic Mario (not 8-bit) and Yoshi's Island based enivornments will defiently be in. As for Kongo Jungle, Dreamland, Hyrule and Brinster, sorry, this isn't a Donkey Kong, Kirby, Zelda, or Metroid mod.

Will mario jump on heads?
Wouldn't that limit Mario's usefulness? What good is he if he can't fire back? _________________
