A little assistance please
Hi everyone, i've got a problem for you that I simply cant figure out.
Right...So in my mod I'm currently making (wasn't planning on relasing or anything, its more like a personal project) Cabal is using all kinds of genetic mutations and crazy stuff like that. So I think to myself, just a simple job of cloning the Adult Visceriod and Floater units, then just modify the stats to the wanted options. All was looking so good. On paper that is.
In game, both the visceriod and floater do nothing aggressive. I tell them to attack, and they dont. They dont even try to move to a possition where that *can* attack, they just sit there. The floater however, if I move him next to a civilian building or an enemy, then he starts attacking using his cool electricity attack...but, not if i directly tell him to attack. I have to move him next to whatever. The visceriod is pretty much the same. He'll move to where i tell it to go, then he'll attack if i tell him to, but he just moves around, like the non-buildable civilian counterpart does when it attacks. If the visceriod moves more than about 1 cell away from the target, he just ignores it and goes about his daily business.
those two tags cause it. They're hardcoded to move all the time, like a civilian. Try to ask from a guy called "J2m3sb0nd" here (if that was his correct name). He made a buildable floater for Nod, which works fine. (you can find a topic about it from Forum Index/Released Mods/Tiberian Future: the dying world. I think it was there, I've got quite bad memory chip today, I need to change it ) _________________
thanks for the quick reply. What you said worked, the visceroid moves and attacks perfectly...problem is, it didnt work for the floater. He moves like i want him to (randomly and he spouts out tiberium gas now, which he didnt do before ) Now, he moves, spurts out gas, but he cant see. Ive set his view distance to about 10, same for speed, but he doesnt move that quick, and he doesnt see anything. Ive made a few adjustments, ill post back if it works.

OK. So after some testing, the floater cant see. Plus, I didn't know that giving the floater the Devil's Tongue flame thrower would crash the game...Wow.

Missed your comment Guru, sorry. Guess I missed out the pri weapon bit too...Whoops. Ill change it and see what happens.

OK, so now the Firestrm.INI is playing with my mind. I just checked it, and it says that the floaters primary weapon is its tentacle. _________________
