"EA ANNOUNCES COMMAND & CONQUER 3 TIBERIUM WARS The Genre Defining Series is Back!
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 20, 2006 - The epic struggle between the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and The Brotherhood of NOD continues…and the third Tiberium War is about to begin. Welcome back, Commander. Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced that Command & Conquer™, the groundbreaking series that put the Real-time Strategy (RTS) genre on the map, is returning in full force with Command & Conquer™ 3 Tiberium Wars*. This highly-anticipated next chapter takes the popular series back to its roots in the Tiberium universe and features the fast, fluid gameplay that Command & Conquer is known for and a gripping story that will redefine storytelling in RTS games.
It is 2047 and the stakes could not be higher. Tiberium-a self-replicating alien substance that has infected the Earth-is spreading like a radioactive ice age. The GDI, a high-tech alliance of the world's most advanced nations, is fighting to contain Tiberium, but Kane, the megalomaniacal leader of The Brotherhood of NOD has other plans for Earth. Kane's secret society turned superpower is bent on using Tiberium to take control and transform humanity into his twisted vision of the future. All-out war rages over Tiberium and the fate of the planet rests in the balance.
"Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars combines fast-paced gameplay with new ways to tell a story in an RTS game," said Mike Verdu, Executive Producer at EA Los Angeles (EALA). "We're building a next generation Command & Conquer game that is true to the spirit of this classic franchise, but is updated with state-of-the-art visuals, added strategic depth, and gameplay innovations that will move the genre forward. I am very excited to be working on this amazing game."
"We have been waiting to reveal this game for quite some time and are thrilled to bring the series back to where it all began," said Louis Castle, VP of Creative Development at EA Los Angeles (EALA) and co-founder of Westwood Studios, creator of the Command & Conquer series. "The Tiberium universe is a personal favorite of mine, and this saga's new direction will prove to be a worthy addition to one of the most celebrated RTS franchises."

The site also has a concept render showing tiberium and some uber heavy soldiers from GDI.
Checking the forums there.. its crazy.. people are wanting different things to everyone else (bar a few trivial matters) and are worrying about tiny things. Its like a crappy warzone. I feel sorry for the people in EA who have to try and make some sense of what the fans want, as that forum is mostly chaos..
I want to personally stab the guy who said Nod should have as powerful and airforce as GDI and the two sides should be more balanced with the same units.
The two sides are supposed to be distinctively different from each other.. gah. _________________ If there is a problem on the forums, PM me. QUICK_EDIT

yeah, some of the fans are whining so tiny things like: "OMG! MCV or Dozers! what will we do???"
WTF? Nod have as powerfull airforce as GDI? I'd, personaly, go and hang him up to our flagpole... _________________

System Reqs won't be a problem for me after all...thank god i bought a new computer for christmas:
2x2ghz, 64 bit, AMD 64x dual core 3200+
Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX 512mb
2 GB ram
160GB HDD
80GB HDD
Now that is gonna surely be able to run C&C3.
And i thought that Mockup at renegade projects was funny...command and conquer F***ing DVD. QUICK_EDIT
I don't understand all the doubts by so many people.
Look at C&C Generals.
OK, the story doesn't fit C&C, but the game is great!
And I actually look forward to see GDI and Nod in a 3D-universe.
Yes, EA afforded a lot of bad things.
Not listening to fans and buying licenses for famous series (C&C, James Bond, probably others) is what they're known for.
But most games they make are good actually.
And I speak of game-wise: visuals, strategy, etc.
The story is a continuation of Tiberian Sun.
I saw many complaints about it, but the story's up to the creative guys from EA, not to the people.
Wouldn't it be boring if everything continued like people wanted/expected it?
It sure as heck would...
gameplay is great.
comparing it to RA2 which slows down on max gamespeed on high-end PCs, it's awesome.
runs hell fast at speed 50.
there's a lot of strategy in the game.
Unlike in any other C&C game, in Generals, it can be really helpful to build a second base or to have "colonies".
Graphics are awesome.
I don't know what kind of graphics you'd like, but I don't think you can say anything against the Generals visuals.
the Units are well concepted and balanced IMO.
every side has its specials.
the "idea itself", I don't know what you mean by it, maybe the storyline.
it doesn't fit into C&C, yes.
but who forced C&C to be in two universes only? Now it's three, where's the problem?
@Raptor:
EA doesn't listen to fans anymore because of people like you.
If I had such "fans", I wouldn't do either.
saying that anything sucks without giving any reasons cannot help EA to improve their games, it just makes them being tired of the people.
that's what EA is now.
It's not that I couldn't blame EA at all, but it doesn't help in any way.
BTW, if you think it all sucks, why don't you do it better?
I'm looking forward to play your game... QUICK_EDIT
C&C Generals had ugly textures, the water was really ugly, pixelated shadows were ugly, etc. Generals was ugly. Compare it to Act of War High Treason an Earth 2160. It is however, better than Warcraft III in gfx. QUICK_EDIT

The graphics of Generals weren't bad, but there were games out that were superior. The best example is Ground Control 2. Granted it was released four months later, but the system requirements are the same and it looks far better.
Hmm, is this some kind of joke made by EA or is it something true? Well, I hope it's true. The pics are looking good. I found some of them on a computer magazine's site and I directly jumped here. If it's true, than maybe the C&C Series will continue, although EA ruins everything... We`ll see soon enough...
BTW. Sorry for being really inactive but I became a World of Warcraft fanatic (to hell with that game, MMO`s suck) and I was busy moving to Canada (pwnage country!) and I still don't have my own pc or apartment (been here for 2 days only). QUICK_EDIT

And....
Ai venit in Canada? cool! I also stay in Canada, and I am toom romanian. Dosen't it rock here in Canada? However, watch out! Winters suck over here... QUICK_EDIT
Oh, and if anyone wonders about Frank Klepacki, i've e-mailed him with a question, and he e-mailed me back with an answer.
Me:
"Will Frank Klepacki play music for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberian Wars? It would be great, since we all like his music work, especially for the command & conquer series, and Dear Mr. Frank, if you do play music for C&C3, will you play Classic music, Techno or Rock? Or will it be something else?"
Frank:
"I must say I heard about it same as you did, so I haven't heard a thing about it otherwise. Regardless, I continue that style of music with my solo CDs (Morphscape, Rocktronic, and Virtual Control) available on my website, as well as Itunes (click "Frank K CDs" in my site jukebox for samples) Also, be sure to check out the newly released Star Wars: Empire at War! Created from most of the original C&C dev team (including myself on the added music and SFX.)"
This makes me say this: We should ask EA if Frank could work with the EA music/audio/sound effects making team for C&C3. It would be great to hear more of his music! So, EA, if you see this topic and post, (which is, i think, very unlikely) please, ask him and Joe Kucan to come back for C&C3. (Especially Joe Kucan, since only he could play Kane, no one else is close to looking like him) QUICK_EDIT

I don't think EA realizes the most important thing about the Tiberian universe: Joseph (Joe) Kucan. In many ways, Joe Kucan IS the Tiberian universe. His directing and acting talent provided C&C with the immersing storyline and dark humor that people have come to expect from the series (with the exception of YR, which I attribute to Joe being drunk at the time). Joe Kucan is the man who brought us the storyline of the Tiberian universe. In addition, Joe Kucan IS Kane. He played the role so well that casting anybody else in the role would be the ultimate middle finger to all the fans of the series. Without Joe, there is no Kane. Without Joe, there is no C&C. _________________ This mod is dead!
Remember that Generals (ZH) was set in a totally different universe and just used for testing the SAGE engine. You're lucky they didn't use C&C3 to test it! I'm sure that, whatever EA thinks is fun, good and money-making, they will not 'f*ck up' C&C 3. It's just too much. It'll kill the community. Don't you think the EA officials know of the grudge most of us have against them? They certainly know why. Apoc probably knows that barking lizards did a bad job, C&C The first Decade could've been a success! No serious bugs (and Sole Survivor inculded)! Come on people! EA is to blame for this, but the idea of TFD was okay. It was the only way to make money out of old games, true, but it was also the only way for some of us to aquire certain C&C games.
Believe me, this can't go wrong, not in the way most of you think, because that'd be a total disaster for EA. They're already making fun of them, lowering potential sales. A community boycot'd certainly be effective, should they mess it up. QUICK_EDIT
