voxels are and shps are what the units and buildings are made from ; buildings are always shps, although their turrents can be voxels,

aircrafts are voxels and most vehicles too
shps are buildings, and infantry and some vehicles with diferent animations

making voxels and shps, alows you to insert your own units / buildings into the game

how to use XCC -> check the tutorial section,you'll probably find something there

about maps, someone else will have to respond on that, check the tutorial section too, or "google" it

btw vxl means volume pixel

1) The Help from FinalSun has 5 tutorials with samples of triggers. Go to http://www.wagnerma.de to download FinalSun, the best TS map editor.

2) Volume Pixel. Think of 3D bitmaps. Vehicles, aircraft and turrets from some buildings are done with voxels.

3) There are two guides to learn how to use XCC Mixer:

http://xccu.sourceforge.net/documents/guide_XCC_Mixer.html
http://yrarg.cncguild.net/downloads/tutorials/xcc.htm

4) You can edit maps with wordpad and add some of the codes found on rules.ini on it. If you want Light Infantry to have Ammo=1, you can add the following code in your map file (it can be in the beggining, before any section with [ ] ):

[E1]
Ammo=1

Settings of the map can be edited with wordpad or FinalSun, although I recommend FinalSun.

5) SHPs are the 2D graphics used for infantry, buildings, sidebar icons, animations, etc...
