Subject description: my new heavy tank for NOD!
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

Hi guys! I've always thought that the NOD don't have the tanks tough enough to battle the GDI head on (on equal numbers and equal grounds). Although in my private mod the addition of the IVI's MRP-T2 Weevil light tank gave the Nod cheap but state-of-the-art tanks to form the backbone of any armored assault force.

Enter my newest development in the IVI AFV-factory! the Scarab battle tank!

Overview:
Name:MRP-T12b 'Scarab' battle tank
Developer/Manufacturer: Isserel 'Xiang Tze Wu' Vehicle Industries (IVI)
Armament:1x 105mm Mass Driver, 1x 1.5 MW AuTra Anti Aircraft Laser Cannon (platform mounted on turret)
Powerplant: K-2 Multiple Microfusion Cell powered Microreactor (power generated is classfied)
Top Speed:60mph on road, 38 mph on conventional terrain.

IVI's newest product for the Brotherhood of NOD, the MRP-T12b Scarab, has been integrated with the newest, most advanced technologies the IVI has developed to date. The Scarab's carapace is 100% pure high impact compact ceramics whose composition is highly classified. The ceramic armor absorbs much of the damage caused by conventional shells from other tanks and negates the damage caused by indirect explosions from splash warheads. Moreover, recent espionage by GDI operatives have uncovered a secret of the highly ominous NOD Scarab: it's onboard reactor generates a large amount of excess energy that is used to drive a steadily supplied but reversible current of unknow magnitude. the current flow underneath the ceramic armor through a lattice of parallel circuitry and then the current generates a sustained magnetic field (as the electric flux changes) that enables the ceramic armor to deflect some projectiles. moreover, plasma and proton based weapons are terribly minmized damagewise because of this magnetic forcefield. projectiles bearing electric/magnetic charges are also reduced in efficiency.

Pros:
The MRP-T12b Scarab is a monster on the battlefield. It's high powered 105mm Mass Driver is sure to inflict generous amounts of damage to any heavily armored unit like itself.
The MRP-T12b Scarab's AuTra (Auto Tracking) AA Las Cannon can shoot down approaching anti tank aircraft from vast ranges. 4 Scarabs are enough to defend themselves and the entire tank platoon efficiently/effectively from airstrikes.
The MRP-T12b Scarab is hard to kill. more often than not, in a head to head battle with a large GDI force, in the event that the NOD armored force is defeated, the Scarab sure to put up a hell of a fight and will outlast the light tanks and Tick medium tanks.

Cons:
Unlike the MRP-T2 Weevil, the MRP-T12b Scarab is very expensive to build. It is hard to amass lots of these.
The MRP-T12b Scarab is not very fast or quick. It's heavy armor and equipment prevents it from using hover technology or quick movement.
The AA Las cannon recharges slowly. although it's anti aircraft ability is very lethal (2 hits will destroy any aircraft), the AA Las cannon doesn't fire rapidly. thus, a squad of orcas might be able to take on a Scarab.
The Scarab doesn't fare well against infanrty. Although the Scarab can't kill infantry quickly, infantry can't damage the Scarab all that much either (unless of course it's rocket infantry that's in question)

I hope you guys like it! I might release a NOD tank pack when my 'company' accumulates enough products Very Happy . that is, if anyone is interested Smile . Please comment on it if the color isnt right or if it's too dark, the same old stuff Smile

That voxel would be so much better if it werent for all that pink and non-remappable red. To remove that pink, simply, dont use unlit colours.

Just like Denmon said, get rid of the pink and non-remap red. Then it'd be a great tank set, ready for release.
