The crew from Tiberium Odyssey has recently displayed some satelite pictures from an undisclosed GDI Air Base.

Also, some GDI units were also revealed. The picture shows some new cool looking Orca units and a Hove MLRS.

Tiberium Odyssey will expand the universe of Tiberian Sun, inovating the gameplay and graphical quality of the game. These pictures says all, doesn't them? Check Tiberium Odyssey Forums for more goodies and information about it.

I don't think they did, pretty sure they are hand made.

You're saying that modeling them in 3DS Max is NOT making them by hand? I highly doubt that creating a voxel from scratch in VXLSEIII can be the definition of "hand made". What? Did the models model themselves? T__T

Actually yes. If they use 3ds2vxl, then the voxel file is actually made with the program, and not by hand. It juast means that the vxl file and the actual voxels are hand made, so converted models don't count. #Tongue

Actually the voxel file is made by a program regardless. Rolling Eyes

Any way you look at it. The end result STARTED hand made. Wether it was in 3DS Max or VXLSEIII or any other program. The end result was hand made.

Saying that voxels made in VXLSEIII are hand made and saying they're NOT in other programs is just wrong.

Yes, because you are not creating the voxel with voxels. The 3ds2vxl script is doing that for you, hence voxels made in a voxel program are hand made. The 3d models you may make are certainly hand-made but the voxel end-product is not as the voxels themselves were placed autonomously rather than manually.

Think of it this way, a voxel made in vxlse is like a car made by a bloke with a blow-torch. It is hand-made but the person making it used tools to achieve this (vxlse/blow-torch).
Voxels converted using 3ds2vxl are like cars made by robots, the initial design was human (they may well have used a similar program to 3ds max) but the actual creation of the end-product was done by a robot.

yah the terms are misleading. we should say made by 3ds2vxl or VXLSE. so how were these made? what tools were used? i can't understand why people still use VXLSE. Don't you guys want to eventually be able to port your same art assets to the 3d game engine i'm working on or other companies are working on? converting from vxl back to 3d model is never gonna look good.
