I think they're talking about average pc specs minimum but you lose a lot of the graphical quality (I was reading a preview in PCZone) although all the kick-ass physics and stuff will be in place no matter what but I think we're talking Doom 3 kinda specs (that's also gonna run on surprisingly low specs for how good its looking). Hell even Deus Ex 2 is going for 30fps on a p3 850 mhz and a geforce 3 (and that's fairly low by todays standards).

HL2's system specs are a Pentuin 700mhz with 64 megs of ram! It's godlike. Hell, GOD has a shrine to HL!
