Hey all, this is my second voxel, but I like to call it my first nad the other one is wreacked for reasons. This is the RA2 Allied concept tank which WW didn't put into the game, this is a bit bigger then a Apoc tank and it's best used for the Allied Special heavy tank like the Soviet Apoc. This is no means finished! Just the basic of the tank, as it still hasn't got the machine gun and the Barl is not finished yet. As you can see it needs more detail, but I thought I'd like to show you what it looks like right now Smile

Couple things - one, that 'concept tank' is actually a Rhino, someone remade it a while back. Two, it's pretty good, but the barrels are too bright. Three, Tools-> Normals -> Cubed Auto Normals (new) on the barrel & fuel barrels.

Thanks, I'm doing the 'Furbishment' On the main body right now. Darkening the back and making more detail for the fuel barrels. I'm trying to make some of the tank remap. But I don't know how to do that yet. This will probably look weird as I made this from Scratch which can be annoying.

Humm should I have it as the RA2 Rhino but it has alrready been made. Or make it a Allied super tank? I'm going with the Soviet and make the WW Rhino another Soviet tank.

EDIT: Here the new version is so far, will finish it tomorrw, but I first must see it in-ame. Wil post another pic in-game Smile

what Muldrake suggested is right, PLUS you might want to reduce the vertical aspect of the turret.

High turrets like the KV-2's are tactically disastrous because they pose as easy targets for AT rockets. (I remember getting hit in the turret so often in Battlefield 1942 when using the T-34-85 and T-34 sigh.. it's my favorite tank in that game too Rolling Eyes )

So, you might want to keep it that way but I suggest lowering it. It's looking good apart from the textures so far! Smile

I will change the turret size, I have changed the barrel so it is smaller. And put some darker colours on it. So far what do you think?

The shape is good, and the general colour scheme is okay.
If this will be for the Allies, I would suggest opening up the Grizzly or another Allied tank, and try and colour the colour scheme.
The remap vs grey on the barrels at the side won't look very good ingame. The contrast is too stong that it'll just look pixelated and blocky.

Also, I would agree with IVI on the turret height as well, but if you're just trying to copy the concept, then you can do this as you wish.

Once you're happy with the shape of the model, then start working on the textures and detailing.
Again, I would suggest looking at an allied tank, and just trying to do a style similar to that. Look at the tracks, and try and get something the similar style to those, using the same colours and such.

another ood tip would be use a darker remap as well, once oyu get it in game it's gonna look nasty when the remap is so bright. i will also go out on a limb here and say that you should prolly just change the scheme to soviet because the design of the tank fits them better, plus you could maybe make it as sort of an inbetween for the rhino and apoc. i think the turret needs to be readjusted too. other than that it's not a bad try on your behalf. keep it up and you'll get better Smile

Ok here it is so far, just resized the turret and looks alot better I think, I will change it to Soviet.

EDIT: I have changed the picture, it looks way better now, in Soviet colours both from the Rhino and the Apoc

Did you change the remap to something a little darker, as suggested by Ihateharriers?

The soviet one looks good. Now to get to work on some of the detailing. Try having a go at what I've suggested. Having a look at the pre-existing westwood voxels, and trying to get the look they have achieved, thinks like the tracks and inner wheels for them, and the way the barrels are done on the tanks.
