Minor site code update...
Subject description: 1532 W3C XHTML code errors wiped.
I've recently installed Firefox 2.0 and I'm loving. Today, I decided to get some extensions for it and one of them was a set of tools for website developpers. So, I've decided to test them with PPM. In my first attempts to validate PPM's code, it failed due to lack of some codes related to charset and document type. When I added them, PPM [sarcasm]had few errors[/sarcasm]... 1532 to be acurate, which is an absurd value.
This layout was nearly unchanged since 2003, when I copied and pasted a bunch of codes from the old site in a phpBB fetch all template. The code was so bad that, even with all this W3C formalism, I still managed to reduce the size of the php files by 13kbs.
So, I've recoded the vast majority of the site, wiped all problems and now it works like a charm on Firefox. The W3C validator said that it's a valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional document. The CSS validator reproved the site because of the IE 5.5 scrollbar related codes. So, PPM is doing well. Except in my IE 6 (I really won't update it), where the arrow images refuses to appear and the scrollbar isn't affected by the CSS either. I couldn't test it in Opera, Safari, Netscape and Konqueror either.
I have to admit that Firefox also has minor problems, but all of them related to the Revora network bar, which is gonna be replaced in a near future. The bar takes a little more of the viewport than it should, stretching it. It doesn't happen on IE. Also, the network bar has several CSS problems on Firefox.
And finally, I've made and added some sections about the Singleplayer Map Making Contest, which the name self-explains and it's made for Tiberian Sun and Firestorm. Of course single-player maps are much harder than multiplayer maps, specially due to the trigger work, so, don't think it will be as easy as the OMCs were organized so far. I'm lazy to write a full announcement about it right now, so expect it later. You have till december 15th to submit your map to TitanMarkII (the organizer). Good luck for all. QUICK_EDIT
I don't get the gradient block headers on either FF 1.5.0.7 or IE6. Overoptimized? _________________ #renproj:renegadeprojects.com via Matrix - direct link Last edited by Renegade on Mon Oct 30, 2006 3:00 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
