I always wondered what did the concept art looked for the tiberium lifeforms..well im sure many of you imagined a more wild tiberian envirnoment. with freaky fauna and stuff, and I felt that what we had was just not enough!!

Well This first concept drawing done for the Tiberian Dinosaurs. A part of the Tiberian Vivarium.A small project aimed in adding a few new exotic faunas to TS/FS.

after these are done, i am open to serious pliable suggestions.

I hope to eventually get the rest out rendered out as .shps

....yes the names are blotchy attempt at latin. #Tongue

Stegoriparus. "Tiberian Roof Lizard."

This beast acts like an armored harvester. Spending its day eating raw tiberium.Flooding its insides with toxic gases, would deter any thing to kill such a creature..

Tiberceratops. "Tiberium Horned Face"

A mean armored herbivore, unlike the Steg, these horned behemoths pack a heavy punch. Its entire face is cluttered with a harden crystalline growth. Using these jagged spires to ram into anything unforunate to get in its way.

Malephysis "Wicked Form"

One of the First predators discovered..a medium sized pack hunter, slender build for speed, and adorned for its colorful skin and soothing song like calls among the swampy rivers. However, it spits a foul smelling glob of tiberium based chemcials and acids. Corroding even the hardest of armors and causing tiberium infections.

Crueotyrannis. "Blood Tyrant".

Rumors have it that a large bipedal super carnivore roams the tiberian jungles. Eyewitness spoke of a horrifying beast that would devour a man whole.

Hmm, I could see these snatching our Tiberium on some maps... However, then the tib better grow real fast... And the dinos should explode in a cloud of tiberium spreading fragments of green flash! Very Happy

I wonder if there is an AI command that says "start havesting"... Just give it a BIG pipscale. =P

nice work, but...wouldn't he try to eat Tiberium crystals on his back, if he does eat raw Tiberium...unless, he could just eat the pods, and leave the crystals alone :p

I appreicate the compliments. thank you. ^^

Haha, good point, I could imagine the poor thing chasing is tail over a tiberium node! #Tongue Well, can roll over and they are herd animals. but They save the crystals for hard times.
Razz

Lol, I definately was thinking about making him a 'harvester unit' complete with a little tiberium dump, and adding little meat chunk voxel debris. Wink

I been thinking in expanding this little project a bit further, like a terrian expansion. except only its more of a fauna expansion.

but only a few units, since i dont want to hog up the [typelist] although it would be pretty funny to have a thriving 'ecosystem' in TS. Laughing

--Well, the raptor was is the next unit im thinking, but technically its kinda of lame...so im thinking in making something more like the Dilophosaurs instead... yes the exaggerated JP one.

you could make it a harvester, and create a "nest" for it that is actualy the Tiberium refinery, and the second frame (the frame of the harvester as it is dumbing the crystals) could be the dino sleeping #Tongue

Lol..thats one way of doing things. I was thinking something more 'natural; #Tongue

if you are already thinking about a harvester and ref logic, why not a whole new side that can be placed as a passive side on mp-maps.
Harvester Dino eats tiberium->goes to his nest with some eggs->breeds those eggs with a sitting-on-them image->goes back harvesting.

Can a refinery also be a factory? if yes it simply produces all the other tiberium dinos.

To the harvesting animation:
As far as i remember does the harvester attacks tiberium, at least it has an attack cursor. Perhaps the game uses the attack animation of the harvester if it has one. And since the dinos are shp units, they can actually have an attack animation.

As a first Tiberium Dino Creature you could use my one on tibweb
Mutant Tiberium Flyer

P.S. do you make them completely new, or a shp modification of the old TD Dinos?

That's pretty well thought out unit..I like the design, more like a winged fiend, Good job none the less.

I am using 3dsmax8 to model them out.

And I was thinking the same thing, making it a ref/fact combo.

Well, I used it the coding on RA1 giant ant to test out if it would work on a harvest ant and a weeder ant I made a LOOOONG ago...but as far as I remember it did not play the attack animations as I thought it would.Neutral

yes, I don't know if harvester (SHP) can have both attacking and harvesting animations, and I don't even know if a SHP-type harvester works in Tiberian Sun.

Not in TS, weaps screw up harvs. anyways I think its silly for him to club tanks with this spikes. he has his dinopals to keep him safe, while he mows tiberium from you.. my concern was getting the anims to works.

anyways- yea another conceptional.

Jurassic Park inspiration? XD I like the Dilophosaur, its even got the coloured patch under its neck like it should, and the proper jaw. But the colour....its hideous looking and terribly obvious in ANY enviorment, but the body structure itself is lovely, the hands are very raptorian, too.

shouldn't these dinos be a little more mutated looking? not just colours or Tiberium shards on back, but what about tusks coming out of it's cheeks, just like with Tiberium Fiend. Just my opinion...

Please dont ruin these dinos with that crap. I've seen Deinonychi with waddles and turkey features, that was quite fucked up alone.

color is always a speculation. purple is a rare color to come by in the natural world....,but if anything it was just about adding frivilous details..

I seen those Deinonychus before

http://www.luisrey.ndtilda.co.uk/jpegs/256col/dei2.gif

. it could be accurate for all we know, but at anyrate it just doesnt look like I need to run away as fast as I would if he didnt look like a 6ft turkey waiting to get shot for thanksgiving.

---Tusks would be reasonable for say the steggy because he uses them to harvests, or attack. etc,

but on the Dilopho, they wouldn't serve any real function and will get lost in the rescale, but I understand your point. In this case the only thing that is different is the concept of spitting. which is a total fabrication by JP, but it fits in this type of environment,

I might may add swimming frames for RA2 version, I dont think its possible for vehicle units to have those, so it will be a rescaled infantry version.

Well, some sea-based creatures like the Ichtosaurus had enough data in their fossils to reconstruct them up to the color, there was some pigment left.

A funny note is how I remembered this from my speech in grade 4 Laughing

Thanks, Denmon, but im modeling them out. The TD shps. arent that great. but if you can make them cool, then by all means.

Im also thinking in adding tiberium ants.

and the a TD like visceriod.

maybe a tiberium makeover. too #Tongue
