SHP Problems
Subject description: Help!
ok, so i put new infantry into my game but they don't show up, so i try to replace an already existing infantry unit with a different image that i inserted into the game, i have checked everything in the art ini and the rules ini but for some reason it doesn't work.
heres an example
ART ini
[someunit]
primaryfire=23,23,23
remapable=yes
etc....etc....etc.....
RULES ini
[already existing unit]
Image=Someunit
etc. etc....etc.......
i have tried everything, i've used Denmon's Nod unit pack, units from RA2 and yet nothing works, i can't add building images either, but i can add new terrain objects every single time, just nothing else! not animations, infantry, or buildings! wtf!
i don't know what this is exactly, but i was wondering if anyone would know, or mabye my computer just has a problem..... but if you can help than thanks QUICK_EDIT
yup, that's the problem. put all your new SHPs in an ecacheXX.mix file where XX is a number from 01 to 99.
you should download an XCC utilities pack first, open XCC mix editor and create and ecacheXX.mix, example 'ecache03.mix' then, when you've opened your ecacheXX, drag the new SHPs from your directories into the mix editor window. save your ecacheXX.mix, code your art.ini and rules.ini entries then try and see.. QUICK_EDIT
and then watch out to write the name correct in both art and rules.
sometimes even an uppercase/lowercase error can cause the game not to show up your unit.
to prevent that i always write the unit names in art and rules in uppercase.
also watch out that the units file name is the same as written in art/rules (should be obvious) QUICK_EDIT
erm.... i have already put them in a mix file.....
yeah! i have checked everything! i copied the exact name of the file and put it in the art and rules ini!
it doesn't make sense why this is happening.......... i have checked everything.......
once i named a unit TU for The Unit (very simple) in art i put [TU]
and in rules i put [TU] but when he comes out of the barracks he's invisible........ i even put Image=TU, but nothing!
theres some infantry units for RA2, that have .ini codes. test those out. and some sequences won't work for TS. like cheer or swim. etc _________________ Delirium.. QUICK_EDIT

well lately i've been trying to get the new infantry to appear, but only one thing has worked......
i tried replacing the elite cadre image and it actually worked, but i tried it with other images and none have worked. so i tried putting the image that did work back in, but it didn't show up so im confused QUICK_EDIT
