Play Nod in the Demo, CommandAndConquer.Com and Etc...
Subject description: Throwing the remaining news on EA, C&C demo, etc...
Yesterday, I've just took my day play the C&C3 demo. I've seen the opinion from many people about it, but I've liked the game, although late units are still umballanced in my point of view. Anyway, a lot of things happened recently, so let's go straight to the news:
1) => CommandAndConquer.com
If you visit http://www.commandandconquer.com, you'll notice that the site was totally redesigned, as well as the forums over there. There are more contents now as well. It's the phase 1 of RTS As a Sport plans. When the game releases, the Phase 2 will start and you'll be able to download replays there, as well as many other goodies. You can also go there to create your C&C3 multiplayer online handle there as well, I guess.
2) => Right Click Issue
Some people complained about the right click to attack, move, etc... which is different from other C&C games. According to EALA Predator, in the patch 1.01 of the game, you'll be able to select between the right and left click to do that. Here's his words:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Guys cool down, we will discuss this more in our next podcast why the clicking convention is switched.
That said... we are going to discuss implementing alternate mouse setup in patch 1.01 for the game as soon as it ships. Do not fear, we fully understand how important this is to you guys, but there are design reason and functionality reasons for the reason its currrently switched. Its very easy to get to used to, but like most hardcore C&C fans, we know how important your mouse setup is and we intend to do everything we can to put in alternate mouse setup in our first patch."

3) => The Demo Easter Egg: Play as Nod, against GDI with AI using any personality!
That's it, guys! The demo is far more useful than it seems. It appears that EA forgot to disable the keyboard shortcuts when they've made the demo.
-> To play as Nod, in the skirmish menu, click to select your faction, click on Nod and press 'N', the first letter. Nod will get selected.
This 'first letter' trick also works to select GDI as AI (pressing 'G') and the AI personality for it.. as long as you use the first letter of the AI personality that you want... (I.e.: 'G' for Guerilla... I gotta love this Guerilla!).
But of course, you are still limited to one map and a two players battle. You can also select scrin, however, those who tested that lost the battle few seconds later.
Now, have fun and save the brotherhood! Last edited by Banshee on Thu Mar 01, 2007 3:18 am; edited 2 times in total QUICK_EDIT
ROFL!
I tried to hack the demo already so the list would be enabled, and now those news
Awesome, I gotta try it later today.
About the right-clicking system, I can just say FINALLY.
It pissed me off that C&C was the only RTS game having that left-clicking system... QUICK_EDIT
I have no lighting! It's looks crappy! I have the graphic settings set to ultra high and yet nothing haves shadows or lighting.... I have 512 MB RAM, a 128 MB video card and a 2.5 processor... Is there any way I can make it look like in you pics with my equipment??
Here is a pic I took ingame using everything in high/ultra high, anti aliasing level 2 and 800x600 resolution. I normally use 1024x768 but here I was just testing

Holy shit. I cummed when I saw that avatar. That thing is epic win. C&C3 rocks! _________________ PPM's Reichstrollfuherer, 236th Trollenparties brigade. QUICK_EDIT
Especially with two lasers, lazarus shield/device, flamethrower and stealth detection at the same time, not to mention ability to be reactivated by engineers.
Did anyone notice that Nod lacks an EVA or CABAL or whatever they have now? QUICK_EDIT
They lack it because they weren't supposed to be playable, so EA never put in the audio files. Thanks for posting the exploit banshee, these last 4 hours wouldn't have been the same without it... QUICK_EDIT
