i created a new unit, GDI commando and gave him a cloned laser gun i copied the unit and gave him a new id and a new bumber in the list when i create this guy i get an internal error Sad

wtf is going on and before you post EVERY tag is reight spelled etc

The game can't find the weapon you specified in unit stats.

there can be several things that are wrong...

there's something wrong with the weapon stats. but that's not likely...

there's a missing image. Infantry with missing images often crash the game...

or you've got the laser weapon problem i had. a weapon named LaserFire4 will not work, for some reason. try naming it LaserGun.

it is fixed now when i changed te weapon to the cabal obelisk but my weapon name was WEP002

are you using TibEd or SunEdit2k?

BTW if you wan't to become good at modding... do it by hand, i.e. using Wordpad.

yeah i will do that but i alwas start with se2k to get the easy units done later i do it by hand

The SE2k problem is that it completely disorganizes your rules.ini making it harder to be edited by hand...

I only use the search thing if I need to go to a specific thing, otherwise I scroll the scroll bar...

my mod is going to be private i think cause mine can't match up final dawn retro and total war so if its buggy i can start over by hand besides i am still busy with my ra2 mod that will probably be released to the public

Why not both? You can have a forum set up for you here to discuss anything related that you want, post work get ideas, there are plenty around here who mod RA2, and obviously plenty who mod TS so help won't be far away if you run into trouble, you can make researches into new ideas etc... etc... etc.... plus the comments ou would get can be nothing byt helpful in helping you make it better. Sold yet?

with all the interest thrown up by Final Dawn, Retro and Total War I'm thinking of starting one myself as well. I've still got a few copies of rules.ini lying around that i've done for myself....
