The Microfusion Reactor Powered Tank model 2 (MRP-T2) was developed by
Isserel 'Xiang Tze Wu' Vehicle Industries (IVI) for the Brotherhood of Nod. The MRP-T2 is a light tank; weighing only around 30-35 tons as opposed to the tank the Brotherhood itself developed: the 'Tick Tank'; which weighs considerably higher.
The 3 main advantages the MRP-T2 has over the Tick Tank are it's speed, cheap cost and it's weapon. Even though the MRP-T2's armor and chassis are made out of light ceramics, it is much cheaper to produce than the heavily armored Tick Tank. Although the MRP-T2's weapon has a lower caliber than that of the Tick Tank, the power supplied by it's onboard microreactor is enough for the mass driver to propel 75mm APFSDS rounds at maximum speeds allowable thus increasing pentration power (and eliminating the cost of conventional propellant explosives).
The MRP-T2 was nicknamed the 'Weevil' after the 3 day clash of the Brotherhood with the GDI in the city formerly known as Xinjian. It was there the GDI first saw the MRP-T2. The volume of tanks they saw was surprising and the swarm of MRP-T2's combined with it's thin proboscis like turret gave the GDI the impression of weevils swarming over a piece of prisoners' food. Needless to say, the GDI garrison in Xinjian was overrun before reinforcements could arrive and so the stigma stuck into the survivor's minds and the nickname stuck as well.
Pro's
The MRP-T2 is cheap to produce! It costs less than the tick tank and is cost effective.
The MRP-T2 makes a very good harrasser for harvesters and unprotected bases. This is because it is fast, has good firepower and has the'heavy' armor characterized with the tick tank, titan, disruptor and the like.
Cons
Unlike the tick tank however, the MRP-T2 has not much staying power in a prolonged fight with other heavily armored vehicles.
It can be countered with Rocket infantry, Titans, Tick Tanks, and aircraft.
I hope you like it! do you think the color's too light??

It has a good shape and texture arrangement (does that even make sense?), but it could be darker, the lightness makes it look a little blurry ingame QUICK_EDIT

needs much darkening, and more remap (compare it to the tick tank, and you'll do fine) _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

MRP-T2 Weevil version 1.2
hi! I edited the weevil and this is how it turned out. you guys are right.. it was a little too bright. however, i didnt darken the barrel any further because if it was any darker it would blend with the chassis and that would be ugly. Carnivore, the MRP-T2 is a 1 personnel light tank and so the turret is small.

The colour changing of the barrel would be due to the normals applied to it. It would appear its has a sideways direction, thus changes when viewed at different angles.
A way to correct this is either, make the barrel 2x2 in voxel thickness, and renormalise.
Or you could keep the same model, but change the normals to the normal pointing directly up. (I can't remember which, but if you change the view to Normals, and then select the same normal as you find on the top surface of your turret)
Some nice variation in colour on the sides. And the greys are pretty-much spot on compared to the tick-tank.
However, if you notice on the buggy and tick-tank, a large proportion of the unit has a black colour. Perhaps if you add more large black sections in the colouring, this could help it out.
The barrel I thought was a bit weird being so light, but it does have the advantage that you could clearly see its direction .
Its a very well made voxel, nicely detailed and coloured.
Depending on your taste, if you would like to help it fit ingame more, have another look at the Tick Tank in your voxel program, and just try and get some of the same features and styles of particular parts.
But having said that, this is a really nice voxel which in someways exceeds the detail level of a lot of Westwood's orginal voxel.
Its a well made voxel in my opinion, and I'd love to see more of your work. I am also greatly impressed that you've put a lot of thought behind the voxel, a partial storyline and explanations of its characteristics to make it a more balanced and believable unit.
Some great work, please keep it up! _________________ If there is a problem on the forums, PM me. QUICK_EDIT

thank you for your help guys!
Chielscape, does the barrel really look that bad? I can't change the barrel to 2x2 because then it would be too thick for the turret! and Muldrake said that unless I do so, the color of the barrel would stay that way depending on the orientation of the turret and the normal directions.
Muldrake you got the effect I was hopefully wanting to produce; that the 'reflection' of light on the barrel would somehow give an effect on which direction the tank is targetting at.
But in relation to tank designs, the fictional Isserel 'Xiang Tze Wu' Vehicle Industries (IVI) has that inhuman sleek slanting low profile on their tanks. I designed my GDI tanks to be a bit blockier than the NOD's . and then Im trying to make new Mechs for the GDI because someone told me that GDI use mechs rather than tanks and it is the NOD who put an emphasis on wheeled and tracked AFVs . no, this isn't just some annoying uber bump... I want to show you the new IVI MRP-T2b Weevil Mk.II light tank.
Overview:
Nod did not renew the deal with IVI for the sale of more IVI MRP-T2 light tanks. Nod now purchases stealth tanks more than they do conventional ones.
the IVI MRP-T2 is far from being phased out however, as IVI's very own Light Cavalry battalion is composed primarily with MRP-T2s (about 50%, more or less). Moreover, New Xiao Mei's Skirmisher Cavalry is comrised primarily with MRP-T2s too.
the IVI MRP-T2b has now been reoutfitted with more advanced re-forming ceramics. Its suspension is now upgraded, and its cockpit expanded. the HUD-actuator firing control has been rehashed too. a secondary anti-personnel weapon was now given to the IVI MRP-T2b: a T-rex WARLAB 'Pilum' bio-thermal tracking laser rifle. The MRP-T2 retained its original weapon though, a semi-automatic AuTra 75mm APFSDS Magnetic Mass Driver.
