make ships look a little better?

Just something I thought I'd expirament on, I made the bottom levels of a ship voxel blue, to make the ship look like it's actually in the water and not sitting on top of it.

This pic is DaTSchikinhead's freigter, the one on left is the original, and the ones the right are ones I edited by putting blue o the bottom...

Do you think the blue line makes it look more like it's in the water?
..or does it just need a different shade of blue?

Make the blue "random" and a bit darker and i'll be just GREAT!

They all actually look pretty atrocious from my opinion. Not to be rude, dude, but they look like legos. Remake it all over again, please, but teh idea is nice.

erm, looks like you just look at the picture and didn't read the texte (classical !?).
He is not presentig a ship voxel ut only an idea to improve them. By the way it's a bright idea.
