Subject description: to buy or not to buy?
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

I'm considering wasting a considerable amount of grocery-stacking-related income on C&C 3, but before I do, I would like to know whether or not there is any point in buying it. I'm feeling a distinct vibe of "mediocre" radiating off of it, but I can't be sure. Therefore, I am asking any forum member who actually owns it at this time - is it any good? What exactly is good or bad about it? Is it worth the price, or should I wait until it drops into the bargain bin (or just not buy it at all)?

It's fun. Get it. It's a good game and the only major flaws are with the multiplayer issues, most of which are/in the process of being fixed.

Buy it, and then hold a CNC3 public burning.

What I like and dont like about C&C3 tiberium Wars

Exclamation Stop reading here if you dont like spoilers

And please dont make this a discusion now becaus of my BAD opinions about it (I wont respond if you do Razz )

The BAD part:
I think EA screwed the storyline up totaly except for the Scrins invading earth.
1. Where is all the stuff that was in Tiberian Sun like Firestorm Generators, Hover MLRS, EMP Cannons (I dont like the EMP Control Center), Cyborgs,
2. How the heck did Kane come back to NOD (Yes I have TS:FS)
3. I dont like EA scrapping the Volverines, Titans and Mammoth MK.II mechs
4. What happened to the rocket upgrade for the Predator tank seen in all pictures Laughing
5. As said before the new Tiberium without pods (EA calls it tiberium evolution) with MIT students trying to explain how it works suck.
and where are the Blossom Trees, Tiberium Life like dangerous large Visceroids and fiends, veinholes and Rampaging Ion Storms and Blue Tiberium chainreactions. I also dont like the new Tiberium Pits (to radical change from Blossom trees if you go by the timeline)
6. The FMV's lacks action or its too little of the ones with action
7. The DEMO was stable on my computer but the retail game is not but thats my problem.
8. Too little Scrin Missions
9. A few Intel Database and Transmission Log things are bugged or missing
10. The WorldBuilder sucked up huge amounts of Swap File memóry on my computer
11. Beam Cannons: what the heck is this. Laser Beams combining at different angles and changing directions WTF. EA must have been smoking crack or something when they thought this unit up.
Yes I know there was the Prism technology in Redalert2 but there the Prism Beams did not change direction when firing several Prism Tanks at one target.
12. Too little Ships (Naval)
13. Ok I think im finnished with my complaining but there is prolly more in the back of my head like how I dont like the Timeline and Story.

The GOOD part:
1. The graphics is nice with the HDR light and has nice animations and very highly detailed enviroments and so on.
2. Its fun too play as the Scrin.
3. It looks like it will be fun to mod if you can mod it as much as Generals or Redalert2.
4. There is prolly more in the back of my head but its much less than the BAD part.

My Conclusion is:
If your a hardcore C&C fan buy it. If not dont. (there is a third option to if you PM me Laughing )
If you realy want my personal opinion PM me Laughing

EDIT: I like this reveiw by Deezire over at Deezire.net (Its quick and short but its just like my opinion about the game)

About the bad thing no.9 Intel Database and Transmission Log its fixable:
http://www.deezire.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=12048
About the bad thing no.11 WorldBuilder its the same RAM thing Banshee had but worse becaus it went to the Swap file becaus of insufficent RAM Memory (I have 512Mb at the moment)

If they screwed up the storyline (which it seems like they have from what I've managed to dig up across the 'net), I'll wait until it drops into the bargain bin.

GDI lost the tech to Firestorm, Hover MLRS got scrapped because GDI were jerks and said 'it absorbs too much lightning from the Ion Storms', EMP Cannons= ECC, Cyborgs is when Nod got a little too scared of the Cabal incident and decided to scrap every one in existence, despite the fact he's you know, dead now?

Mechs retiring is just one of those things which EA always does because they like the feel of a tank rush better than a mech rush, despite being jerks while they are at it.

In short, EA just sucks.

Actually...I think I seen something in the map maker that resembled the Firestorm defence walls...but I didn't really investigate into that. O.o

the pits for blue tib are ok, since in TS the "tree" was already a large crystal. i agee for the green tib.

anyway, you should just buy it. though with all these different opinions it might be smart to first try it before buying. (borrow it, download it, etc.) but do buy it if you like it.

well. I don't played CnC3, but we tried to play it at my friend. The loading screen pop up and nothing more. If you have a powerful comp. you can buy it.
