CnC3 for XBOX 360

Well, I picked up the CnC3 demo for X360, but I was curious about how it would be modded as soon as the game is fully ported to the 360. Would anyone here be interested in assisting my research upon this, when it hits the 360 full in May? I figure it's worth a shot, for Halo 2 has been modded, with minimal results, and a few others games as well. I am more interested in this because if it can be modded, I'm sure we can add maps to the game in some manner as well...I'd love to use the Map Archive for CnC3 here for mah 360.

Oh, and do any of you guys with a 360 here have the demo? I need some opponents. Add Player1949 to your buddy list and send me a message saying who you are at PPM.

Maybe I am being retarded but I went in the shop the otherday and CnC 3 was purchaseable for the XBOX 360 :S. Depending on your region I guess.

I would think modding a console game will be very limited. There again, the XBOX 360 does have a hard drive and the lot so who knows, I just wouldn't get your hopes up too high.

( btw will XBOX 360 work with a mouse and keyboard when they are released for 360? Joystick controller is not suitable for an RTS really )

Hmm...I didn't think that CnC3 was going to be released for us until May...unless I'm just clearly out of it and it really is May. #Tongue

Modding the console game will still be very limited, but considering that Halo 2 can be modded on both the XBOX and the X360, it's worth a shot.

(No, sadly, there will be no mouse support. This was asked during an interview, and the 360 won't support the mouse and CnC3 will not as well. I've played the demo, and for a joystick, it's really well-built. I was impressed at how easy it was.)

Halo can be modded by modding the map files that are cached on the hard drive.

So unless C&C3 stores files on the hard drive then it probably won't be moddable, and even then you'll probably have to do it on a each map file.

Can skins and such be added to the disc perhaps? or to the HD itself like how we can place new skins in the Gens/ZH Directory?

I'd imagine the disc is read only.

I wouldn't think the game is set up to read skins from the hard drive. Then again it might cache them there.
It's all down to how EA have chosen to set up the game.

It wasn't via caching that Halo 2 was modded, it was by manipulation of the maps stored on the hard drive that you download via XBL. Those exist on your HDD, and it's probable that more could be added provided that you could make more.

In order to mod the 360 altogether, it requires you to dismantle the 360 HDD, get the phsyical drive from within, grab a SATA cord, remove the regular PC's HDD, replace it with the 360 HDD, and some other fancy risky expensive-if-a-major-mistake-is-made stuff. It'd be a big step in modding here to see this work.
