Predictable, my friend! Another one of these community news!
Subject description: Covering May 3rd, 2007.
And hello again! I'm still stuck with my auto normals research that still doesn't give me descent results. At least, this time I've managed to kick the ass of the black dots (normals with oposite direction), but there is still a critical problem to sort, in order to see the result finally making sense... if it really makes sense in the end, of course. The fact is that I spoke to my teacher today and he told me that writing an article, in english, because it's an international symposium, revising it to death to make sure that every single point is correct and test the technique exaustivelly, usually takes about 15 days... doing it in 6 is pretty much impossible, however, I can still send it as short paper, since I'm a graduating student. That would be fine, but I'll still try to have something done by next tuesday.
Anyway, back to the C&C community. Today I bring some good news for Tiberian Sun modders and some random news as usual. Here we go:
-> Extended Tiberian Sun 3.30 Revision #0012 was released today. This version fixes some bugs, apparently, specially the 'TertiaryFile one. Anyway, ETS already allows you to do several new superweapons, including a RA1 SpySat, another to give you money, MeteorShower and you can clone the most common ones because you are able to create new mouse cursors. Also, your vehicles and buildings are able to fire up to 4 different weapons and air to air combat is also supported, although you need to be very quick in the mouse to use it properly... or target a flying jumpjet infantry.
-> CnC Generals World has announced and released the Command & Conquer 3 Map Manager. This program allows you to view, preview and wipe maps with a click of mouse. Very useful to organize your maps. It requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. For more details and download, visit its section on CnC Generals World.
-> Derelict Studios has new C&C3 mapping tutorials, including one on advanced texturing, showing how to deal with transitions between textures, one about adding new textures to maps and one about making hostile creeps guard an area. Check them HERE.
-> Official C&C Site has a nice looking and updated Community -> Links section. Check it out and find out other cool C&C communities! QUICK_EDIT
