Right, as a few of you know i'm trying to make an open-source 3d RTS engine, preferably based in the tiberium universe.

However, I need a comprehensive list of what EA owns in trademarks, for instance, are the names GDI and Nod trademarked ?

Is the name tiberium trademarked ?

and any other such things.

the main menu in TS and RA2 are Copyrighted. And I don't think GDI Nod and Tiberium will be problem as EA lets us mod TS as long as its not sold for a profit

I had a look here and it looks like tiberium, Tiberian Sun and Command and Conquer are their only trademarks. GDI, Nod, Scrin and anything else vaguely C&Cish isn't trademarked.

The link worked fine for me, thats an interesting resource to have especially in the modding side of things. Even if its copyright or trade marked it shouldnt be a problem to use it because no money is being made from its use, I think that EA would probably welcome its use.

i would suggest you make another game first using just generic art and that game should be able to be quickly transformed into TS later. show EA this other game you made and if the quality is unbelievably good then they will give you the contract to remake all their games. you will have to make them commercial though but i don't care coz i'd gladly pay if it was top quality.
