Weeeell, the name of the title says it all. Sadly, search doesn't like me, else I'd likely not have to have made this post.

If there's already a post 'bout it, a link to that would make it much easier, otherwise... I really need to know how extract the 3D Models from Command and Conquer 3, Renegade, and Generals in addition to their textures from the game files. I intend to use these files in an animation/production I'm working on using Maya, but converting the 3D files will likely be no problem at all.

If this has been covered and it's somewhere -really- obvious, you all have free reign to shoot me. #Tongue

If its somewhere else then theres two of us that doesnt no. but here ya go

If i remember rightly, to extract from ...

renegade you need to extract from the .DAT file using a program such as XCC Utilities

and find the W3D File and corresponding texture which usually has a similar name such as
rocket.w3d will have a texture rocket.dds or something

for generals and zero how you need to get into the .BIG files using
BIG Tools

and it will have a similar layout to the .dat extractor, but in generals and zero hour the textures and w3d files are seperate
textures - textures.big
models (3d) - w3d.big

hope thats clear

you said you can convert with no problem but just incase you were just feeling confident..

as for getting it into maya, well there is a w3d importer for gmax but i think gmax was discontinued either way its found here

then you could export from gmax in a format that you can either open or convert to maya format, it will be a long process but it works
as for CNC3 dot have a clue lol

hope this helps if not sorry for wasting your time loooool
