CNC3: Chaos Realm
Subject description: MOD Concept
Im nw to the community, but i have been working on this Idea for some time now, It was going to be a TS mod(it still might be) but I lost all my good programs when I moved.
Anyways, back to the MOD. CHAOTIC REALM takes place 50 years after the arrival of the scrin, in Chaotic Realm im going to try to add a fourth faction, it will be somewhat of another alien race, GDI has NOD, Scrin has ?(yet to be named). but the new race will be a little more human than the scrin, (sorry, I just don't like the insect look of the Scrin, so I might remodel them too.)
Im already working on models, I post some pics later.

No pics yet , But I have figured out where the new race fits in.
10,000 years before the first tiberian war, they have been to earth before they had helped the human race, a premitive race, they showed us how to survive and become the dominant creatures on earth. now they have returned to help the human race again, this time from annilation.
all the new sructures Im baseing off of egypt and aztac structures.

sounds like the predators to me on aliens vs predators . but, i love the idea nonetheless. you should feature this mod on cnc3. you have much more options that way. and the mod sdk is due out within a couple weeks. it does seem like you have some good ideas here. i will be watching this mod QUICK_EDIT

yea I think your right, Ive never seen the movie, but like i said im still debating between several concepts, that is the only one i have models for though.

well, you should definately keep the aztec/egyptian look, but make the buildings have a defininate futuristic look, but they will be in forms of pyramids. and aztec temples. i think you could do something really amazing with this idea Chaotic. Good Luck QUICK_EDIT
this is the kind of mod ive wanted to see. i always liked the idea of connecting ancient civilizations to aliens. a lot like stargate.
i agree with sanedisruption, keep the aztec and egyptian look with a more scifi look. i'm guessing their units will be made like the mythological beings of both civilizations.
i'm just wondering, will the new race be allied with both GDI and Nod because they are both human, or will they be against Nod. if its part of the story you don't want to reveal then thats ok if you don't tell me, just curious. QUICK_EDIT

Honestly I havent fully worked out alliances, but right now im looking at the idea of the new race really just came back to earth because they have been tracking the Scrin, they have a uneasy alliance with both GDI and NOD, and will attack ether if provocted.
Also, for those who have seen Stargate, I am trying to base the infantry off the Jackels. (the dog headed people)
Im just haveing trouble modeling them (I never did do well with Charactures, Im more of a vehical and Structure kind of guy)

i absolutely love what you have so far. those buildings are supurb, truley. even if they are low poly, they are still great. i can see the egyptian and aztec architcture flow through the designs. its looking really good Chaotic. very very nice QUICK_EDIT

I fiqure I need to show some progress, it isn't my best model (I need to learn how to do legs and feet) but it is the most complete of my infantry.
so here it is (like my little brother called it "Star Fox with Talons" ) the head will stay but the feet need major work

not bad. but still looks too boxy around the torso area. Is a separate objects or is it seamless? hrm. about the feet kinda fits in with the geometric feel to the units. IE. Aztec gods have that quality to them. but it seems too small or something. _________________ Delirium.. QUICK_EDIT
have you tried subdivision/lathing/smoothing or whatever they call it?

i think the buildings look great so far. the soldiers are looking good as well, but i have a few suggestions. although i think the head looks good as is, if you wanted it like the anubis warrior then the head and the snout need to be skinnier. also the body i think does need to be more round but keep some of the parts of it boxy because i think it fits with the feel of their architecture. i do like those second feet.

Not bad, just give him some Textures and will be ready to rig and animate. How does it look according to ingame scale?
btw. What game is this for? I suggest having two factions unless its for YR.

I think it would be cooler if you focused your energy on this new side and your version of the Scrin. that be a much more compelling storyline/mod idea rather than dealing with remakes of Nod and GDI. but its up to you. _________________ Delirium.. QUICK_EDIT
