So its out, its on, and its playing. The hyped Battlecast Primetime or  "C&C TV" is available to download in HD or stream in flash via the Command and Conquer website, here.

So, what does it cover?
Well, in a format as to what I'd describe quite simply as cheesy american style TV, including plenty of adverts, is a collection of "Apoc's Community Corner"
(which reminded me of the 1990's style children's TV which was always filmed in the box-cupboard), C&C News (covering the 1.07 Patch, Mod SDK and the expansion "Kane's Wrath"), a Joe Kucan Interview and Battlecast Primetime Match.

I found it entertaining, cringeworthy at times, but entertaining, and it was interesting to see the concepts for the new expansion "Kane's Wrath", as well as their notes of how, they have tried to implement a lot of community comments and suggestions through the expansion, as well as it covering the time between the second tiberium war "C&C:Tiberian Sun" up to Tiberium Wars, and beyond.

A concept from the Battlecast:

An Overlord Juggernaught? Check out more captured here.

Go check it out for yourselves. You can't knock it until you've at least seen it. And if what they say is true about the expansion pack, it may help change a few peoples opinions of Tiberium Wars, and C&C's future.

Heres a few screen caps from the concepts section of the Battlecast.

A Juggernaut with an Overlord bunker!? A weird combo to say the least. I'd think it'd work better on a Mammoth Tank.. even if that be pretty much an exact rip of the Generals Overlord.. Confused
Notice the newer barrels though. Artillery Railguns? #Tongue

A Sonic Hover Tank (an idea I personally played around with for a mod idea for C&C3), although doesn't look like any previous GDI hover tanks that I've seen..

A Nod unit, which looks relatively defenceless, and to me seems to resemble a Mobile Stealth Generator?

A Scrin unit, which looks like a cross between a mastermind and a shock trooper. Looks overly green for a Scrin Unit, so I'm guessing it has some Tiberium weapon, and the coils on top suggest it can teleport like the shock troopers.
I don't get the weird footsteps though?

Another Scrin Unit, which looks to me, like some original concept art, from when C&C3 was still known as Tiberium Twilight. Something involving a puppet master and puppets?

And then there is also a few other GDI units, which were shown in the previously leaked "rotary menu" which was revealed to be a new feature for the XBox360 version of the Expansion Pack.

I do like the idea of each side having a few subfactions also. I've always wanted subfactions with GDI and Nod Very Happy.
And somehow, the story expands from the end of TS/FS to TW and after. Hopefully it'll explain a few things better (Maybe why Mike Verdu made his post about, correcting inconsistancies with the TW and the rest of C&C?), and it may explain the presence of the "Cyborg" concept art, especially if it is for Nod, rather than CABAL?

But thats pretty much all we know. They say its due to be released early 2008, so I guess it won't be long before we get more leaked stuff.
If what they say is true, about them listening to what the fans have said, with regards to comments and suggestions, and how they are trying to add as much as they can of them, it could be interesting.

With what I've seen recently of EA, they do seem to be listening a bit more. But then.. they supposedly listened in the first place with TW, and a lot of people would say it isn't really noticable in the game.

Well, only time will tell. I'm trying not to make too many prejudgements, despite what has happened in the past.

But one thing is for sure, even with EA's control, expansion packs have always improved the original game. A lot of people regard TS, RA2 and Generals useless with their expansion packs, maybe the same will occur here, and "Kane's Wrath" will make a difference.
Also they're making a big thing about Kane, which means more Joe Kucan, which makes me very happy!! Very Happy

I quite liked the match.

It went on a for a decent amount of time and I think the commentry was fairly good.

And most importantly it might be an incentive to make your match last longer instead of rushing.

I knew that they would announce the expansion, although I knew nothing about it. What I know is that the top 3 maps from OMC4 will have a chance to be featured at Kane's Wrath.

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I'm going to laugh myself to death in a few moments.

Kane's Wrath has got to be the most corny expansion name ever.

Overlord juggernaut? So, let me establish this correctly - They took a unit out of TW (TS FS...) -> Fancied it up with extra armour etc. -> Added upgrade ports and even used "Overlord" in the name. Hello... Running out of ideas isn't understandable... At least they're blatantly admitting it now...

You take a ridiculously overkill intro which looks like it could cause seizures in blind people, have the presenters act cool by smashing fists, (or whatever it's called in English, we call it "power" here >_> ), add a C&C cornyness corner with Apoc talking fancy, adding in a C&C generals mod just to show how much they love their fans (after stating they do... Multiple times) and then... A game review! However, it's happening so fast and the commenter sounds like he has ADHD and needs a little bit of ritalin to fix his day.

Okay. Now, that was enough bashing, because it wasn't all crap. The Kane interview was very funny, "Can I become an honorary member of the brotherhood?" "Ehh, No." including the bubblehead figure... Laughing

I like the fact they're sort of trying to correct some of their mistakes. The concepts aren't too bad, whatever that cyborg-commando-like unit was, it looked very nice! Smile

The concept of the creature on the back of the human with the scrin logo does relate to the puppet master.

The 'adverts' were plain silly... "EA Battlecast brought to you in part by.... ourselves!"

Yea Joe Kucan was great though, with his usual straight-faced humor, "I got the role of Kane from a cracker Jack box"

They didn't want to say 'we were advertised by ourselves', but their message was 'we have other products'. Advertisement wasn't bad, really... but the C&C3 one in the end was kind unnecessary, since it was clear for everyone, for everything showed in the show, specially in the Vessela's part, that there were C&C3 for PC and XBOX360.

I dubbed it, considering.. its a Juggernaut with an upgrade like that to an Overlord. IE, a bunker/gun.

I don't believe any of the concepts have publically aware names.

They didn't name any of the units, to my knowledge. Granted I only watched it once.

They did a good job with this show. It was entertaining and the commentary was great. To bad GDI is overpowered.... Anyway I give 2 thumbs u for EA at actually making (well not totally they aren't entirely affiliated with the show according to Apoc) a total success out of something without bugs or severe ztype-ups.

" Overlord Juggernaut?"
No its not...

I thought the show was quite fun to watch, although they acted a bit too much up.
They should certainly use the idea's potential fully.

Ok, they have made my day. Joe and his reaction to the Kane bobblehead was HILARIOUS. I've never seen Kucan THIS OVERJOYED in my life, EVER. That part just made my day...way over that CNC3 x-pack announcement.

And looks like they brought back subfactions like we asked them to. Apoc seems to have taken into accound what I told him about the 360 having the expansion too (Since BFME2's x-pack didn't make it to the 360, although he didn't want to confirm anything)...

Interesting...World Domination...and doesn't that Scrin humanoid remind you of INFESTED KERRIGAN from STARCRAFT?! O_o WTF?! Are Scrin humanoids? Or did they mind-control/assimilate humans or something? Or maybe they took the idea from that guy who sketched a humanoid Scrin...

After seeing Blizzard was gonna win over them with Starcraft 2 and because they kept listening to their fans' suggestions and implementing them, EA got paranoiac and tried doing even more that! But they are drowning themselves by risking this. They should've from the beginning done this, with the original game. So many things seem like recycled Generals and Zero Hour concepts though...

Overlord upgrades - Juggernaut upgrades
Laser Tank that takes up energy - Hover Sonic tank that takes up energy
Faction Generals - Subfactions

Actually, Faction Countries seems like a thing from the first Alert game, maybe earlier.(Age of Empires FTW) these could be divisions like Black Hand, Recon 1(#Tongue), Daleks, ect.

Lets see.

GS: Why did the team decide to create an expansion pack for Command & Conquer 3, rather than go off in a different direction or even start work on a full-fledged sequel?

MV: An expansion pack felt like the right next step for us. We have a great story to tell, one that builds on the foundation established in Command & Conquer 3 and in previous games. We also wanted to give players a new strategic layer for our classic fast, fluid, and fun Command & Conquer gameplay, add some cool features, and introduce a bunch of new units and structures. Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath is a natural extension of Command & Conquer 3 in many ways, but it also adds some things which are truly new.

GS: Give us an overview of what we can expect to see from the expansion pack. New units for each faction? A new playable faction? What's the main focus of the expansion?

MV: Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath features a new single-player campaign with a fresh story, a new set of live-action sequences with a celebrity cast, a new way to play Command & Conquer, and a wealth of new units, structures, and powers.

I'm particularly excited about the story and the campaign, where we will bridge the gap between Tiberian Sun and Command & Conquer 3, expand on what actually happened during the Third Tiberium War, and then take players into the future--after the events of Command & Conquer 3's story. The arc of this story is epic in scope and the chapters set just after Tiberian Sun will give longtime fans of the series something special.

When it comes to gameplay, our new "global domination" mode is the big story. Imagine a strategic layer added to the classic RTS game play that lets you wage war across the entire planet. We're also introducing subfactions with new units and structures for each of the sides in Command & Conquer 3--the Global Defense Initiative, the Brotherhood of Nod, and the alien Scrin. Each subfaction favors unique strategies and styles of play. It's also worth noting that we've answered the call of many fans to bring back HOVER TECHNOLOGY to GDI and CYBORGS to Nod.

If that weren't enough, we've chosen to use the Xbox 360 version of Kane's Wrath as the platform for our next-generation console RTS controls. We will debut a new in-game interface and control scheme that makes playing Command & Conquer on [a] console even more fun.

There's a lot of cool stuff...and we can't wait for fans to get their hands on this expansion.

GS: We recall that one of the team's main objectives with the original game was telling an in-depth story. How will the expansion continue the original game's story? Can we expect to see any of the Hollywood talent return for the expansion pack?

MV: Our campaign will span an incredible 20 years of Command & Conquer history, taking players from the end of Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun all the way through 2050 (three years after the events of Command & Conquer 3). As mentioned, the story will once again be told through high-definition, full-motion video sequences with Joe Kucan reprising his role as Kane. A new celebrity cast will join Joe. We'll reveal details in the coming months.

Players will get to experience Kane's rise to power after the terrible events of the Second Tiberium War, learn what happened behind the scenes during the events of Command & Conquer 3, and then plunge into a new conflict with very high stakes in the years after the Third Tiberium War

I think the one with that removed sidebars the 360 variant?

Then again it also looks rather nice for a new replacement to the sidebar. :3

Nice new replacement for the gay 'sidebar' we had in CC3 360. KR 360 looks like it'll be fun.

The choppers look like a gunship of some sort (cannons and missiles). Don't really see a place for them between the Orca and Firehawk, unless they're like the Generals Apache.
Which I'd rather they weren't.

Radial sidebar looks better than the current 360 one but you won't be able to operate that without selecting a building.

I'm guessing it may be some GDI aircraft which doesn't need to continually dock to reload, a bit like Nod's Venom.
Don't quite know how those rotors would work, considering they overlap and from what I can see, are not at an angle from each other..

The extra unit in the 360 menu looks like some AA-unit, looking at those quad guns. But I can't tell how it would work. Because I cannot see any tracks, it makes no sense for it to be a turret, when built from the WF, and the shadows from the screenshot depict that it isn't hovering. Maybe its a deployer?

I can see those hover tanks being used a lot.. Hover + Sonic Cannon.. that'll wipe the masses.

Also, I think, looking from the very large infantry also seen in that screenshot, that they could be the Nod Cyborgs.
I don't know though if that Nod Deployer is an MSG, because why would they need 3 of them for such a small assault?

I really think that the expansion pack is gonna be full of recycled ideas from:

1. Battle for middle eart 1,2 - global domination

2.generals - some stuff

3.zero hour - subfactions

4. tiberian sun - New-majorly-complained-about ruined-designed-recycled-units

Lazy EA =P

Fudge, lazy EA, so lazy to make more cinamatics

Anyone notice that the major EA design for tanks is that the cannons are at the sides?

And oh I almost forgot, WHERE ARE THE MLRS' ????

Um, global domination is in TS, it was in RA2, nobody plays it though. Also, before calling EA 'lazy', and C&C3 X-pack is full of recycled ideas, AFAIK Firestorm was the SAME thing. Recycled ideas and MP maps. =|

An RTS game with things that have been in other RTS games?
Bloody hell!

They're lazy because they're actually making more cinematics?

And MLRS is gone because MLRS and Juggernaut is a bit of artillery overkill.

Actually, that mobile stealth generator is a Nod APC, which can deploy into a Bunker, so the infantry inside can shoot out of it. I know this because of this link (bottom part of the page, named Reckoner)

Copy & Paste from IGN:

Nod Updates
New Units
The Awakened: These are the cyborg remnants of CABAL's former army that have risen to assist Kane in the Third Tiberium War. These guys have a welded machinegun on their left arm that is excellent for taking down infantry. While mostly used as anti-infantry troopers, the Awakened also come with a welded EMP cannon on their right arm, which is very effective in knocking out vehicles for other units to wipe up such as the…

Specter: New stealth artillery that fits well into Nod's style of play. The Specter can tail other units around the battlefield or hide themselves in a corner just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. With the help of the EMP cannon from the Awakened, they can take out a group of enemy armor units easily. They also can fire over longer distances with the help of the new Shadow Infantry ability called Artillery Beacon that sets a target that the artillery can barrage the radius around that beacon from afar. Sneaky sneaky!

Reckoner: This armored personnel carrier is a heavily armored troop carrier used for transporting infantry into defended areas with smaller risk of death. While the Reckoner is moving, units inside can't shoot out of it, but if you use the one time ability to deploy it, it turns into a bunker (and gets an extra garrison slot) and any troops inside can begin attacking everything around them with impunity until that hefty bunker is taken down.

Other Upgrades
Also mentioned were extra laser upgrades for the cyborgs to give them even greater power on the battlefield along with a sub-faction only unit that acts much like the Black Hand but uses liquid tiberium instead.

GDI Updates
New Units
Hammerhead: New flying unit for the GDI that doesn't require constant re-loading with ammo back at the air field. This one never needs to reload the twin auto cannons that can rain hell down on infantry. However, it's still fairly defenseless against anti-air units and can only hit ground targets. Hammerheads also have one garrison slot, which is especially important because whatever infantry unit is garrisoned inside will be able to fire as well. Pile in some Zone Troopers or grenade troopers and you'll have one hell of an attack force in the sky that can be deployed to the ground if need be.

Slingshot: This guy fills a much needed deficiency in the GDI's line-up, which is vulnerability vs. aircraft. While they have pretty decent planes, they also require re-armament just like the Orcas. The Slingshots will fill that role nicely as they're a fast ground based lightly armored anti-air hovercraft that can destroy air forces pretty easily if protected from ground troops.

Shatterer: This mobile sonic emitter is another hover tank that has taken the sonic emitter turret from C&C 3 and strapped it onto a mobile platform which becomes a very strong siege weapon. Because these tanks can hit multiple targets, micromanagers should be able to be very successful maneuvering units to get the greatest impact.

Modified units
Zone Raider: Comes with shoulder mounted anti-air rockets. She's great for defending against air attacks though that weapon isn't particularly terrific for full on attacks. The Raider shown in the demo was also upgraded with a new toy called the sonic cannon which fires a shell that explodes in an area effect, which is pretty slick at clearing out clumped units. When combined with the ground-only Zone Troopers, they're a pair to be reckoned with. Even so, good anti-infantry troops like the Black Hand will still have a decided advantage over the Zone Raiders and Troopers.

Other Upgrades
We were also told that Orcas will be able to upgrade with sonic launchers of the Zone Raider, though this particular upgrade will be tied to one of the specific sub-factions. Being able to fly in and spam a much larger area with sonic shells is a pretty nice thought though.

New Power:
GDI also gets a new orbital strike that essentially launches large slugs from space that will be available in the late game for the GDI. It causes a great amount of damage to a pretty large area and is another power that reinforces the fiction that GDI has control of orbital space around Earth.

Scrin Updates
Unfortunately, we didn't really get a chance to see any of the new Scrin units in action. Our only glimpse was in a quick video that showed the design for the Ravager and Mechapede units. We heard it slip that the Mechapedes would be highly customizable unit, but that's all we can tell you for now, though we're pretty stoked about the idea of a mechanical centipede of death.
