Texturing is a bit...
Horrible.
The box isn't UVW mapped as a box even.

And those pipe things wouldn't have an electricity texture, its going to look daft because it's not animated and electricity wouldn't just sit still.
There's also no need for them to be bent like that, you should have had more sections and made the curve smoother (unless the bent look is what you wanted) - poly count doesn't matter in shp files.

There's bits of other things overlapping that centre bottom ring and the grey base is underlapping the remap ring.

Tidy those things up and it'll be alright.

Ring and Loop plus Connect edges are your friend

. feel free to extrude, Bevel. also chamfer your edges or vertex points..

look at any thing in real life, it never comes to a full crisp on 90 degree angle.

I suggest you google for modeling tutorials and also check out turbo-squid and download a free structure model for reference only or seek out architectural wire frames and look at the edge loops and contours.

www.subdivisionmodeling.com
-more for high-poly character modeling
but look for the polygon primer. Learn the UI of any 3d program. the theory of modeling is still the same.

-good luck Smile

it might also help if you did a little research on how tornados form.... might get some ideas.

What 3D program you using? Its good that you are learning to make 3D models, but I think you need to look up some tutorials to get a grip of the basic modelling features and stick with it through them so you start to get an automatic feel for how to get certain effects. As an aside, I was thinking about how to go about making some kind of vortex animation just the other day but I need to get a better handle on particle systems first.

It's pretty good if you start that soon. Anyway, it's not very good (if it's your first model, it's ok). Go get some tutorials, and you might also try to learn trying to copy something - look on voxel forum here for instance. Find something that seems reasonably easy, and try to copy it. It's probable that you'll get a lot of ideas during copying and the outcome will not be even similar to whatever you chose to make at start.
