Hello C&C map makers! We'd like to remind that you do not have much more than 10 days to submit your map to the Open Map Competition 4. We are accepting C&C3 maps until the last second of September 3rd, on Greenwich Time Zone. The top maps will have a chance to be featured on C&C3 Kane's Wrath expansion that will be released by march 3rd, 2008 (according to GameStop).


Anyway, here's some important tips that may aid you in the contest:

-> You can submit new versions of your submitted maps until the deadline of the contest.

-> Many maps sent so far have no scripts, which means that if your map has scripts, it will have a much better chance of getting a higher score than the competitors. And you can use public scripts, as long as you credit the author of these scripts. Scripts will take 15/1000 of the total score.

-> Watch for the camera settings. The correct ones are 400 (max) and 170 (min). If your camera settings are far from these numbers, you can loose up to 5% of the total score. If you want your map featured on Kane's Wrath, use EA's standard.

-> Lack of minimap can eat 5% of the total score.

-> Remember that this is a competition and not just a chance of getting feedback. Send your best shot. Make the terrain complex, abuse of textures, ambient sounds and scripts.



And of course, good luck for all those who are participating from the contest. The higher the amount of spotlighted maps (75%+ score), the higher the chances of getting more assymetrical maps at Kane's Wrath and better for everyone! Make your best shot for the cause!
