GDI field report wrote:
Name: Solifuge-(One Who Flees from the Sun) Aka: Camel Spider, Wind/Sun Spider.
Class:Anti-Armor Drone.
Speed Range:Level 5-7
Armor:Medium
Weapon:Hard Alloy Pinchers, Corrosive Tiberium agent.
Intel:
Reports came in of giant spiders attacking our convoys. Witnesses named these after terrifying tales from our Middle Eastern Campaigns involving arthropods of unusual size..a strange coincidences that has plagued us since Operation:Counterstrike during the First Great War.
Now a common sight, Solifuges have been seen scattering around the battlefield protecting Kane's holy lands...infesting temple sites and brooding over precious tiberium fields.
These fearsome drones burrow underneath loose soil, hide and wait. Striking our unprotected convoys by surprise before burrowing back. They make short work of harvesters and moderately armored units. In organized groups they can well take down our Mammoth Tanks and swarms can well breach our base defensives and cause havoc within an unprepared base. Acting like swarms of line backers, ramming their acid coated mandibles into our tanks, tearing them to shreds with their claws.
Rumor has it these were of Cabal's dirty secrets, modified to suit the Brotherhood well knowing the psychological ramifications once coalition troops witnessed these loathsome constructs prying into Zone Troopers and Wolverines.
Armed with many pairs of hard tiberian resistant alloy which it uses to pry treads and other vulnerable mechanical pieces. It also employs a tiberium corrosion agent to soften up armored vehicles, leaving its mandibles to do the rest of the dirty work, like a steak knife on butter.
This deadly foe is one of Nod's more gruesome units as another unconfirmed rumor has it that it uses raw organic material from its prey to fuel its continuing onslaught. Possibly citing its CABAL's orgin.
It is also armed with a secondary weapon it sprays a fine stream of this tiberian agent via the whipping motion of its tail-like appendage near its rear. while weak effect on most heavy armor it can be fatal on unprotected infantry and damage lightly armored vehicles.
Other newer models fling hollow needles filled with harmful neuro-toxics and mutagens and spiny tails. or scorpion like stingers or extra set of appendages, ranging from armored pinchers or longer legs for speed and agility and sensory upgrades...
While devious they are, they are still capable of being exterminated, but take care, due to acidic tiberium liquid mixture held within can be explosive. Its best to take them at a ranged and well elevated position and remember to inspect tiberium fields for any presence of these abominations.
Got this little idea after a little researching. _________________ Delirium.. Last edited by Ickus on Sun Oct 07, 2007 7:11 am; edited 6 times in total QUICK_EDIT

Ah. Well No worries, just remember your 1000x larger than them...unless we enter a neo-carboniferous age. Only then will you have to really worry....>_<
Anyways here is an update, showing a concept sketch I made in Flash. I was messing around and I decided to be a little more productive. Yea so it ended up looking more like a vinegaroon/ tailess whip scorpion. than a Solifuge.
