G'day,
I'm working on a mod for TS and I need to make a 'Dropship bay' to replace the war factory. Basically GDI build their units in space and land them on the battlefield via drop ships (like nod drops them in via plane in TD). However I dont have the knowledge to create the shp, especially with the animations. If Could someone help i would be eternally grateful. Or even if someone can tutorial me through the process.

Make a Screenshot of GDIs Dropship while in the right facing. Then cut out the Dropship and the shadow.
Then make an shp in which the dropship lands. (At each frame move the dropship a little bit lower.) The shp could become very big if you want it to land from an high altitude.
Then take a look on original warfactorys. You see DeployingAnim and UnderDoorAnim. Cut your DropshipBay into 2 pieces. The first is for the part of the building that is always higher than the leaving unit (the roof), the second that is always lower than the unit (the ground).
Put the roof to DeployingAnim and the Ground to UnderDoorAnim.

Now you can use two ways to make the dropship land.
1. Replace the Dooranim
2. Use it as ProductionAnim or PreProductionAnim.

I would recommend replacing the DoorAnim. Then the Dropship lands and after the unit left the factory the dropship takes of.

How UnderDoorAnim/DeployingAnim work you can take a look here too.

Yeah, we're doing something like this for Rise of Omnius, except it's a spaceport.

At this point though, all we have is a C & P placeholder ( the kodiak goes down & up as the "door anim" )

But, erm..isnt the Kodiak like...a command ship and not a vehicle lifter?
