The basis of this "mod" is to simply test out all the features implemented in Rock Patch

























Spy is using customised weapon cursors.

Thanks to Gamemate for cameos, I've also renabled the drop pod atmosphere entry actions and impact animations from

[AudioVisual]

When this mod is released, all assets can be used by modders but please credit this original mod and its authors and contributors

Although im a fan of new super weapons being brought into the game via rock patch, I just think the patch itself is focusing to much on super weapons which cannot be used by mod's thats already released.....many of the features added are made for "works in progress" and veteran modders....leaving novice modders in the dark


seems like the RP neglects visual and other details such as fog of war, ice breaking, tree flamability ...etc

these can enhance any mod already out without it having to be re-coded

@ modder666 yes they are all SW, they include

* Sidebar icons
* Charge times
* EVA events

I will definetly work on ETS, when its more "complete" when I get the chance SMIFFGIG

Visual details are mainly resource hogs or more complex then they seem, and what about Spotlight code being renabled, and terrain stuff? So I would not say RP ignores visual details per say.

What I like about the newest patch, is that is reasonably stable, its annoying if you added A LOT of RP features in older versions, but the added functions are worth it.

Finally drop pods are elite because of a RA2 engine and veterancy.

In TS, you cannot see veterancy until you actually click the unit. In RA2, you always see veterancy of units, hence the infantry in the pod is displaying his eliteness which is part of the coding of drop pods SW which means all infantry must be elite.

Also current supers that have added, which don't have graphical effects really are

* GPS Satellite (SpySat Type SW)
* Cash Hack (Money Type SW, gives free money)
* Emergency Repair (repairs vehicles, can repair enemy)

I plan to try and implement all the common ones like airstrikes, parabombs and then work on cnc generals one.

Hopefully it should inspire modders, and give a firm foundation of ini for novices to look at. (Even though I think most of the modding is of common sense ability)

Note that all supers will probably have some "issue" or workaround, for instant I can't literally have a Cash Hack like generals because the logic doesn't exist, but by using some imagination, you can have whatever you want.

Note that Multi and Chemical currently use Type=Fire, which would mean you couldn't have both supers on one building, however I will play around with nuke code and hopefully I can find a work around at a later date.

Who am I? Beowulf, of course so I'm quite within a position to bitch. RPCE blows ass. It turned a project of mine into a minefield of errors but that's not even the issue. The big thing is that VK does all kinds of things without even consulting the community, which, if I recall correctly, is the entire reason this even exists! The RP serves little purpose if it adds features without making certain everything works in tandem without producing random IEs.
Besides, if VK had a better attitude and actually LISTENED to what we said instead of brushing it aside, no one would be bitching this loudly.


Now, anyway, as I was trying to say in my previous post... awesome work AG. Nice to see what you can do with the RP. Wink

Er...Gaffel, RP is much worse now, because of all this widespread "bullshit" as CnCVK says. No 100% accurate documentation, CnCVK making new features that don't work right, messing up old features, and then, at RenegadeProjects, he thought to add he fixed 'other' stuff, and didn't say anything about it. Quite the "bullshit' that CnCVK seems to act like doesn't exist.

Also in ETS thread, why did you say I hate "RP" when I attempted to support an entire mod on newest version? with this mod announcement?

Also my comments there was to make all these TS wishlist and whiners be more supportive and professional and have focus upon stability.

Your gonna flame people who support the patch and try to give you back community feedback yet support retards who spam up a thread with demands or saying focus on ETS more?

Because I take time to give him feedback on errors and issues he misreads or doesn't understand what I type and instead thinks I am trying to "bash" his ego and thus just says bullshit or thinks I am lying instead of asking for clarification.

Also for the last 8 versions of RP Gaffel, I never saw such widespread anger over how this patch is being run be it from silent observers (like Blade) to more active ones like PAD and Fenring/Beowulf.

Everyone just boycott the patch and let your anti-RP/ETS voice under VK leadership be heard.

Well, the thing that DropPods bring only elite units is stupid. Want to know why? Because RP also gives the ability for unique units to turn into other units, thus making a big mess when mixing both logics. So VK, please take it out.

Otherwise, I can't complain much about RPCE. It could be better, but that's all we have for now.

Just a little observation about this point: Sometimes the programmer does some code optimizations, change internal variable names or do some kind of things that won't affect the final product at all, but makes the program more legible to be programmed. In this case, nobody put these changes in a readme.

I think this vocal minority constantly trying to stamp down on CnCVK's work is a bit unfair. For a start I think we have a bit of a language barrier so certain nuances in what people say might not be understood by CnCVK and it also makes him seem more blunt than perhaps he intends. It also makes it harder to write good english documentation for him. Also, RPCE does seem to be more stable IMO, if you are having problems migrating over your code that relies on changed RP tags, perhaps you should have commented your code better so you knew where they all were. You also have the option of just shipping an older RP version with your mod where things did work. Yeah, I agree that he could do with listening to suggestions a bit more frequently and taking on more feedback, but at the end of the day, he knows how to hack assembly and we don't. Stop having a go at teh guy all the time, I think he's got the idea now.

And now when VK are fixing them very fast are you complaning about things that dont exist, i never had any problem with RPCE, Fenring or Beowolf or new name your codes most be f*cked not the patch

Er...I REALLY doubt that Beo would screw up coding. I'd know from playing his mods, and knowing him personally. So...know what you're talking about before you criticize his code.

I'd much rather have a version of RP with slowly arriving fixes but more working features at one time than this crappy RP hitting us with 3 revisions / 2 weeks.

Actually, we should all have the right to bitch over everyone else's work. It's just their right to not listen to us if they so choose.

I personally won't use the RPCE, and I feel that yes, PaD was a better leader of RP development, but hey, that's the risk you run with this kind of stuff.

Frankly, I have no clue who you really are, so my first reaction to just a 'this sucks' statement would be to ignore it. Acknowledging an ass only encourages him.

If you said, on the other hand "This sucks because there are too many useless units and X is broken" then you have valid points I could choose to address, dependant upon how I want people to come away from my mod feeling.

Even though I agree 100% with you Rattuskid, I must say this - free speech is not owned exclusivelly by the Western world. I really dislike how you westerners take it as a part of your cultural and social life only. [/rant]

To download what? RP? NPatch? RP2? ETS? Some other user-made patch which adds new functions? Laughing
No, seriously: for RockPatch and RockPatch2 (which is not ready atm) look here, and for NPatch and ETS look here

Just a small note: nobody is doing anything anymore about the original RockPatch.
NPatch is the new version of RockPatch, created by VK.
RockPatch2 is the unofficial new version of RockPatch, created by PaD, the official (and only) creator of RockPatch.
ETS is something like RockPatch, only for Tiberian Sun, created by VK.
