Well, the original idea behind this unit was to have the mutants equipt with a mammoth equivalent in the battlefields of TS. The original concept behind this idea was that of the Dune 2 unit the devastator.

This voxel has been completely made by me, which took around 4.5 to 5 hours to complete. At first i didn't want to release it but all it would do otherwise is rot on my external, so i would like to share it with the greater community.

It has my original camo for BTS because this is the camo I intended to use for the mutant side in TSD, but the mutant idea was canned. Another reason why it should be released.

This voxel also incorporates a track animation, but had some rather funky side affects ingame which i believe would suit tactiks unit motions brilliantly.

As always, if you want to use this unit or any parts of it in your mod just credit me.

Cheers Dregan Smile

mutanT devAstator.

Besides that, nice voxel, though I really don't know what's so mutant about it. IMO mutants don't build heavy tanks...

Ever heard of a typo, thats all you seem to enjoy correcting and reviewing these days when it concerns voxels.

Also my reasons for making a heavy tank for the mutanTs where stated clear enough.

So what does a stereotypical mutant vehicle look like then and in your opinion what does a stereotypical mutant army look like then nyerguds?

The voxel looks good, but the animation will probably be weirded out, due to it having conflicting voxel bounds. But a nice job on it anyway.

Thanks but the animation problems are not probable as i have already stated there are some funky effects ingame.

Remember me to this

Heavy Terradyne, from Ground Control 1

Nice voxel. But looks a bit small for a heavy tank.

very nice looking model there Dregan, I like it. well done.

but nyerguds has a point... I dont think mutants are capable of building tanks either. I've always imagined them as a rag-tag group with empty stomachs, carrying rifles strapped together with scotch tape and with half filled clips. Idea

Yeah, that was pretty much my point.

@Dregan:
As for the typo's... TWO in the TITLE ALONE? Not to mention, you misspelled devastator everywhere, including in the filenames of all the attached files. I simply corrected you because it was obvious you really didn't know it was spelled incorrectly.

@OccultSpectre:
Yes, that's a very nice "hosted by tripod" hotlink blocker image :p
Seriously, if the file is that small, and from tripod, just save & attach it, lol.

points, but its only a subjective one. depending on the interpretation. mutants can be fat warlords hoarding smelted vinifera bars in Gringot's bank. Amassing the left over resources left behind, waging mafia wars and gang battles in the mean streets of New Detroit.

Unfortunately the tread anims in TS aren't very visible and TS has some problems handling this sort of animation. Also as the unit moves around it does so in a manner by bobbing up and down with a range of only 1 pixel or so. This unintended affect makes it look like a cartoon tank and emphasizes that well loved orkish feel. I believe something like this will be perfect for the units in Tactics. However this effect has been untested in RA2 as of yet.
