Darn that sucks... Well at least you still have a little time. Well I hope that you go through the whole thing unscathed, also no desert colored cellphones like last time.

Once pple go they will more than likely go back for a second round, if they came out the first time in one piece. So are you in the national guard or the regs? QUICK_EDIT
Good luck DaTS, I hope you don't get the Bad side of Baghdad or anything. Are you a ground pounder or do you get to have a little cover inside an IFV on patrol? _________________ Yes, work on MV continues. It is not forgotten. QUICK_EDIT

Why don't you quit the army? Sure they'll be pissed and you'll be branded as a traitor for the rest of your life, but atleast they won't be able to send you on death missions anymore!
Supporting this war on terror will only trash our economy even further. Don't play a part in this ridiculous conflict. _________________

BrianPrime, If you were american, i'd shoot you on spot... but you're not, so i forgive you.
Thing is, brian, I love my country very much, quitting would be against everything i am and stand for.
Whether it be by bullet or old age, i'll die for this country. Period. _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young QUICK_EDIT

I am American, and you're a loony.
This country is no longer worth dying for, it's become a corrupt, economically-struggling collapsing superpower with an exhausted military and a weak dollar. _________________

hahahah, loony, yes.
and Yes, this country IS falling apart at the seams, but it is my country nonetheless, and not only that, but the people that reside in it.
Like Her
and her
These people mean the world to me, and i'm 100% sure everybody in this country has someone that means that much to them. I know that they want them protected. That is my goal. To protect the people. _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young QUICK_EDIT
If you really mean all that you're saying daTS, then you have my admiration.
The courage of being ready to fight and if need be die for one's country to matter how bad it has become is just admirable.
any country would need soldiers like you. Not some sorry-ass weakling who would cry and cringe in a crossfire nor the overpumped warfreak who's only in it to kill people. _________________ "War.... war never changes....." QUICK_EDIT
I don't really get the link between going into Iraq and defending your country.
(Don't get it wrong, I'm not criticising your choices and all but that particular point sounds weird to me) QUICK_EDIT

Iraq is nothing of interest in regards to national security. If we really cared about national security, we'd have NEVER started the war in Iraq, more people hate us now than ever before, and we don't have the money anymore to do shit about it.
So now we're more vulnerable a country than ever before, because our Military is one of the most ill-equipped in the world now, our economy couldn't support another war, against whoever may chance upon attacking us, and we've ruined our national reputation as a strong proud nation.
So if we get attacked, we're screwed, and each day in Iraq only furthers this dire situation. _________________

I'm with Prime in one point: it is not worth fighting blindly for your country. When you go to Iraq, you are not dying for these people, unless these people are also in Iraq. You are dying for a corrupt, economically-struggling collapsing superpower with an exhausted military and a weak dollar. If you don't go to Iraq, whatever happens in Iraq will hardly affects these people you love so much. QUICK_EDIT
I'm half and half in this one.
BrianPrime has a good point about America not worth fighting for anymore, but I'm going to say the exact sme thing about the UK. It's not worth fighting for, because all of the problems that've been going around in the world are just causing more and more wars. The UK is not a place worth fighting for anymore, and neither is the US, they're both corrupt and overran with crime.
However, I'm with DaTS (Mr. Moosey ) On the protecting the people you care about. I'd happily join the army, for the sheer reason of thinking: "What i'm doing now, will make it up to my friends and family who i owe so much too".
Protecting my loved ones, to whom i owe so much too, would be well worth joining the army. QUICK_EDIT

war=bad, no matter what way you look at it...
My decision to join the military will not be questioned. I cannot be shaken from my values. I adhere to the Soldiers Creed (see signature), and I adhere to the laws of the Constitution of the United States of America. _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young Last edited by daTS on Sun Dec 02, 2007 3:18 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT

I can not agree with you Banshee. No matter how the economy of the US is suffering atm, the country isn't collapsing! It's in a crysis, from which it's going to get out in a few years.
As for the war in Iraq - if I had the chance, I'd go and fight against the Coalition troops. Changing one regime with another isn't liberation at all.
As for daTS - dude, try not to kill people. I hope no more people die in there.
