OK, i known that Nyerguds created article how to fix missed soviet movies in TFD version of C&C: Red Alert, but it need to many manipulations and after that pre-loading time of game is increase.

This is my little binary patch...
C&C: The First Decade. Red Alert Movies [English] Fix
1. Allow missed soviet movies after 1st mission in game.
2. Free ~500 Mb.

P.S.: You must select MAIN.MIX file to fix it. File is not small and when patching process freeze (on display) on 0% and 100% don't panic - it's working!

P.P.S.: I tested only on my PC. Please test my fix and report about results.

ok, so what exactly does this do, besides deleting the obsolete movies extracted by the patch?

The best solution would be to pack all movies in one big movies1.mix... is this what the tool does?

If so, how much free disk space does it require?

Only repack MAIN.MIX

Yes.

Size of new MAIN.MIX while it working.
