Subject description: Game crashing! BLARG!!

Alright, I have an extremely temperamental allied hummer. It's always made the game crash for no apparent reason. I have recently installed Rock Patch. Is there a different approach to modding the game if I use Rock Patch versus not using it?

Are you talking about an Internal Error? If yes, Upload the except.txt, and we'll see if someone can take a look at it for you.

Error drawing a VoxelAnim in the game. I dont know what for sure, but it traces back to that.

why would you make the except.txt be the problem? copy and paste all the ini codes having todo with the hummer (specially the first primary, always seems to be the problem) for something is wrong to the actual hummer it sounds like. look for typo's, and incorrect captitals..... and some might not be a code and you need different words (ForbiddenHouses dose not = RestrictedHouses) mind you that was an example, i doubt thats the problem.

It could be a corrupt voxel?. test the unit with a voxel that you know works to rule that out.

no! not the voxel! the unit! this happens to me all the time! just give us the ini rules! it could be some typo! as for corrupted voxel.... the most corrupted you could get is a virus or bad color.

Where have you been for the past... how many years?

The EXCEPT.TXT file that is dumped but the game when a Internal Error happened, gives you information about where and sometimes why the game crashed.

So, you see, the EXCEPT.TXT can be very helpful to people who cant trace there error, because it can give a Class from where the Internal Error EIP derived from.

@ the1corrupted: I would try what Ickus said.
But still, IIRC, a corrupted voxel doesn't even let the game play; it gives an IE when loading the map...

I dont know about some of you, but it looks like a classic Null Pointer Exception. Go over your code and check your spelling for consistency.

If its doing it on unit build, theres a chance you have a listed unit that is inconsistently spelled in the code.

Alright, since most of this argument is over the rulesmd.ini, I have actually copied and pasted codes from already in-game vehicles. I literally copied the rules from the Flak Track and put them on the hummer, made prerequisite and owner changes, but still crashes. It's not a corrupted voxel because it actually works when it's not crashing the game.

I thought the absence or error of an Art.ini entry would just render the vehicle invisible and take away the cameo when it comes to voxels...

Tried that, still crashed the game. This is the only unit that is crashing the game! All my other ones work fine.

It turns out it was a corrupt voxel, but it wasn't corrupted to begin with.... Odd. Anyway, this mod is nearly done. The art for my Delta forces is somehow not functioning.

Sounds like you're missing the HVA. I had the same problem and I had left out the HVA. And make sure you have an art entry.

And wardeathfun, please stop giving out bad solutions. His animations are fine; check the Pillbox.
