Well this is something that always bothers me in maps, the veins have the dirt in the frames so i removed it.

This affected lighting and underlying tiles such as the roads and grass
act now and download this for only 26.28 KB!
and if anyone wants, i have done a green version! Very Happy
maybe i'll do the monster too...

great idea and great work!
seems like a lot of work you've put into this, since it isn't only a color replace imo.

Do you know a way to add the green veins in addition to the original instead of replacing it? This should be really researched, since the green would be perfect as an infantry killer, grabbing them, holding them (with reaper web logic) and converting them into visceroids using the veins warhead for those.
However, some of the green veins have too bright spots in them. You should soften them a bit. Also the rest green part looks a bit plain.

Lol I did the same thing long ago, but I also added in a grey version for snow maps.

but that does raise an interesting question. Is it possible to add in a custom veintree..and veins? doubtful. but worth a try?

Since its about veins I got a few questions to boggle ppm with.

Also is it possible for debris to spawn vein patchs like tiberium. albiet they fade away due to lack of a VHM near them. So you can add it to the debris to Chemical missile WH whichs spreads several patches of veins to harass the enemy units as well.

I did test it, by naturally giving TiberiumToSpawn=VEINS nothing happened? unless that means adding (Is)Tiberium=yes/ to [VEINS] or won't work since it isn't a valid tiberiumtype.

. but any other way to spawn overlays from debris/explosion animations?

One way you can add in green veins as a replacement to the aboreus tiberium set with the green veinset... give it a high power value..unforunately it won't play the vein attack frames when infantry walk on it..or anything else for that matter..

alternative would be a large flat building not sure if its possible to have enemy units cross over it to get damaged by the attack animation. or make it work like a sunken colony. #Tongue

I like it, good job renegangsta!
But there is one problem: because the veins have a new image, they show up black on the radar... I know this can be fixed, but it takes much time and some haxxing skills...

Nice work.
BTW, does anybody know, what happened with all Tiberium creatures (except of Forgotten) in CnC3 ?

Um, not really. Just because it didn't appear doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Toothless Pteranodons in Jurassic Park 3 don't appear, but that doesn't mean they don't exist on Isla Sorna. The old Worker Village isn't seen either, but its there.

Yeah, but the Veins should have appeared in the "Red Zones". And so should have other Tiberium-related Fona (and fauna), not just those damn Tiberium Glaciers. Red Zones appeared in TW aren't really as dangerous as they were in Tiberian Sun (Toxic levels might be high, yes, but with those titanium Zone suits you're free to walk where ever you want).

You're assuming that all the same animal life would form up all over the world, which is utterly stupid. I doubt Fona will evolve everywhere on the planet and look exactly the same, if they survive even. American elephants(mammoths) looked totally different from their African counterparts, and lived around the same time. Veinholes may form only in certain climates, Floaters may be swamp dwellers, who knows?

agreed some bits are overblown but it is better looking than the one before it due to the contrast.

Sharing? I'll see if I can find it. I recall also doing a blue set for snow as well. not that is hard to create. #Tongue

Why create a blue version for snow? Just keep the original color (or in this case, the green color), it looks much better then a blue version Wink

Sorry for dig but I think this should be useful.

Don't put this veins.tem into any ecacheXX.mix or expandXX.mix kept it in SUN folder. Because it will screw up Final Sun to display veins when mapping.

Hey guys, I realize I am very late to this party, but I use the cleaned up veins.tem Renegangsta provided. It messed up the colour of the veins on the minimap, they appeared black.

Using Nyerguds Radar Colour Editor, I corrected the radar colours back to orange.

Anyway, just wanted to provide the fix, in case anyone else needs this.
