Tiberium, MOH: Airborne and official mod tools? Epic fail?
Subject description: Medal of Honor: Airborne has no modding tools and Tiberium may not have them as well.
I'm sorry this is coming later than I anticipated but here's the info on the mod tools for Airborne:
I've been working with people on the team, including our technical director, and unfortunately I have to report that we won't be delivering mod tools for Airborne. The simple honest answer is that the version of Unreal Engine 3 we used to ship Airborne did not support modding. We have been involved in several code updates since the ship of the game, but the varied costs of integrating a newer version of UE3 backwards into Airborne to allow modding is prohibitive. There is too much code we'd have to update, and it would essentially mean rebuilding too much of the game's architecture.
Had Epic been farther along with UT3 while we were developing Airborne, things would have been different, but that is unfortunately what happens when you develop a game while the technology is still being developed
And what does it have to do with any C&C? Remember, Tiberium uses a similar, just a bit more modified version of the same engine used on Airborne. This means that there is a great possibility of we never ever seen any official editor for Tiberium, not even a map editor.
I trully hope that Tiberium doesn't have the same fate. In this case, it would be easier to modify other Unreal Engine 3 games, which are beyond the scope of this site. QUICK_EDIT

EA won't let this happen again, they'll ship Tiberium with the updated codes surely. Especially with people aware of the mods the C&C FPS(not RTS) community can produce. APB on Tiberium? Since when is this an excuse? Take a look at Company of Heroes Relic/THQ Did make a Major Architecture changes in their 2.0 patch and 1.4 patch. if they can do it it in patches EA can do it from the beginning with Tiberium and with patches for airborne _________________
