Sup guys and I'd like to finally announce my mod to the public
and please comment with CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.
If I get too much negative comments on my post, I mind as well cancel the mod
and my work I've done for good and might leave the community as well, since theres
nothing to do other than making a mod. And yes I've been planning this for over a year
so please be honest when you post your comments.

Story: In December of 1994, the International Union of Astronomists (IUA) sights a large Asteroid on a collision course with the Planet. The FCU Government (now called ISAF), located in the middle of the Usean Continent, called for a further study of the incoming asteroid. A special team, consisting of prominent astronomers, astronomical physicists, and geologists was formed and placed under the IUA. It was found that the asteroid, officially labeled as the "1994XF04 Ulysses" had a diameter of roughly 16.6km and had an extremely high probability of impacting the planet.

In October of 1995, Comona University, assisted by Shellsbridge University's observation's, calculated the exact trajectory of the asteroid. At approximately 3:30pm USEA Eastern Standard Time on July 3rd, 1999, the asteroid would be in close proximity with the planet. The two Universities calculated that the asteroid would impact the northern hemisphere with the force of 2,000,000 nuclear bombs. If Upon impact the world would be plunged into a Nuclear Winter.

Soon after the discovery, Usea had announced a global community effort to find solutions to defect
the asteroid and fears amoung the public had made international communities to cooperate, starting the Special Project called Stonehenge, an array of 8 massive rail guns built to intercept the asteroid if it had went beyond the Roche Limit. Erusea a military country located far west of Usea decided to cooperate with the international community despite their sour releationship with ISAF.

On Saturday, July 3rd, 1999 at exactly 03:30pm USEA eastern standard time the Ulysses finally reached earth's vicinity. It then, unexpectedly split into more than a thousand pieces as it passed the Roche limit. Many of these Ulysses Fragments then plummeted to Earth. The World's nations did not expect this happening, but reacted quickly. Stonehenge engaged the larger fragments of the 1994XF04 Asteroid and did it's best to protect the Planet. Still, Hundreds of Asteroid fragments smashed into the Usean and Anean Continents. On the Usean Continent alone, over 500,000 people perished within the first two weeks, and damage was estimated to be the equivalent of 18 months of the total GDP for the entire continent.

With ISAF states busy recovering from both economic and physical damage. Eursea suffered little damage on their soil other than their capital. Months later, the Erusean military goverment launched an suprise attack to capture stonehenge. After they realized that stonehenge
had overpowering antiaircraft capabilites, Erusea declared war on ISAF with their overwhelming
air superiority over 80% of Usean continent. Years later after Erusean occupation over the mainland ISAF struggles to exist.

End of intro.

ISAF campaign: Reclaim our lost land and our Shattered Skies.

Erusea campaign: Usea now belongs to us and wipe ISAF from the face of the earth.



My objective is to make a total conversion of the game to a more modern environment and senario.
the story takes place before and after the Ulysses event in the Ace Combat universe. The player plays as an ISAF or Erusian commander that have the choice to retake liberate the Usean continent or Crush ISAF for good. (Note this is more of a campaign mod but I'm also working on multiplayer gameplay and balance).

Oh and it would be nice for anyone to allow me to use some existing voxel in PPM for my mod, mostly just tanks, APCs, Naval vessels, and some aircraft.

Mappers, Terrain artist, and SHPers needed because I'm just a coder and voxel artist, and it would be nice if someone know how to convert DWG format to SHP because I don't trust many sites that are out there. Thank you for sparing your time reading this.

Note: If I can't finish this mod, I'll release my work done so other people can work on it.

Is this based on a game?

Also, an asteroid of that size wouldn't cause a nuclear winter if it hit the North Pole, but an ice age by blacking out the Sun with the enormous amounts of dust and ash flown to the air from the explosion.

Oh, and why not change the story a bit. Make it so that couple of decades after the impact, a new continent born on the impact site (because of the impact itself) was habited by humans, and this continent was the Usean continent.

Pretty good for starting out.

I agree with creating your own storyline than simply porting an existing one.

I mean you can get pretty creative with it...you got strong good idea but explore more with it. Also try to avoid the trappings of jumping in the modern warfare camp pool..make it interesting but don't use gimmicks to advertise, lets its originality sell itself.....

Think of what kind of audience do you want to play your mod..is it only for fans of Ace Combat 4? I suggest keeping a broader approach..I am not familiar with the game..or storyline.

Also if you do chose to create your own IP be more flexible. try not to get bogged down with technicalities..in in the end it doesn't matter. what model number the engine..is..since is gonna be a voxel. #Tongue

Wow, good ideas here. A mainly aircraft based RTS - especially one based on Ace Combat - will be spectacular mod, if you can pull it off.

Mirage 2000 a light fighter ? what!

Excuse me, But the mirage 2000 has the same role as the F23_A (fighter-bomber) and not to mention has more missiles -.- like 7 magic missiles (same as Aim-7 sidewinder) and up to 4 bombs and mininuke.

What a insult to the mirage series.. shame on you!

First of all the MIR-2000 is a lightweight fighter and is 100% comparible to the F-16 (see this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_Mirage_2000 )
thus it fits in the light fighter category. Second of all the F23_A does not exist
and has only come close to the YF-23 when searched in google. Rolling Eyes

So reconsider. Exclamation

All are nothing in the face of the F-22 Raptors! I personally like the F/A-18E Super Hornets #Tongue Much of the mod will emphasize on Air-to-Air combat, no? However don't lack the 5k feet-effective AA burst missiles for the faxis #Tongue

Artillery-- M270 MLRS
MLRS are expensive compared to normal artillery systems but their advantage
is their range and power. Capable of firing salvos of artillery rockets, concentrated damage is enough to destroy anything thats stationary. Watchout for its light armor.

Mobile AA/AG--M163 VADS (finished) (ZSU-23-4 removed because too big ingame)
The M163 VADS is a quick variant of the M113 APC mounting a 20mm vulcan gun.
Although dangerous against infantry, helicopters, and lightly armored vehicles, its anti-aircraft ability was limited against aircraft, especially against fast ones. Cost=1200

Recon--Humvee
Basic recon/transport vehicle, can carry a crew of 4
with high mobility and good protection.

Heavy Helo--AH-64 (credit: Weeraby2k)
The AH-64 Apache was designed to be a close infantry support unit, it can destroy heavy enemy armor easily making it an effective multi operational combat helicopter.

Mainly a recon unit, the AH-1 cobra can work as a close air support unit but not as effective as the AH-64. Cost=1250

Transport--Chinook

Multi-role--F-22A (credit: Godwin)
As the worlds first operational stealth fighter, the F-22 raptor
lives up to its name, capable of firing its weapon first before the enemy.
The main power of this aircraft is its radar stealth, and BVR combat range.

Fighter/attacker--F-15E (finished)
The F-15E Strike Eagle was made to perform well in all combat conditions,
An already powerful dogfighter modified to attack both gound and air targets
made it the aircraft of choice in all fronts. Cost=2500

Light fighter--MIR-2000 (finished)
The Mirage 2000 lacks maneuverability but it makes up in both speed and power.
It can outrun its main counterpart, F-16. A popular fighter among ISAF pilots.

Attacker--AV-8 Harrier (using default Falc.vxl)
The Harrier main role as a anti-ground and ship strike fighter earned its icon for its reputation, can change the tide of battle when used in groups.
Cost=1500

Naval--F-14 (not buildable) (carrier based) (credit: Stingerr)
The F-14 tomcat is an aging fighter with almost no superiors, although with the threat
of the Erusian F/A-18F superhornets, F-14s are no longer the king of the skies.
Its advantage over the enemy is its speed but its not suited well against ground targets.

Bomber-- B-52 (credit: Daz) (resized by me)
The B-52 is the main stream bomber fleet of ISAF. With given escort, these bombers could level an entire city when in large numbers. Cost=4000

High speed bomber-- XSB-71 (finished)
The XSB-71 was a reversed engineered design of the Erusian SR-71 recon plane. While ISAF had trouble designing a long range supersonic strategic bomber to counter Erusian defense and their Tu-160. ISAF was lucky enough to shoot down a SR-71, Months later after the landing of the Usean continent. ISAF had a prototype ready at an airbase in the mainland but was at extreme risk of Erusian attacks, several days later the airbase housing the prototype was under attack and the prototype was forced to take-off on its first voyage to a safer location. After its first outstanding voyage, ISAF Airforce Generals agreed to produce the aircraft but only in small numbers due to its high performance and maintence cost. Cost=6000

Stolen tech--X-02 wyvern (finished)
The X-02 Wyvern is by far the most combat capable aircraft ever designed in history.
designed with the Mixed airframes of the F-22, YF-23, Su-37, and Su-47. It is completely unmatched in both AA/AG combat, but it comes at a very high price.

Destroyers are the main power of a navy due to its flexability, capable of being multi operational. Destroyers are a key to both Sea and ASW warfare. Cost=2000

The M2A2 bradley fighting vehicle is a popular AFV among the Erusian ranks.
High mobility, and effective weaponry made exremely good for hit and run attacks.
Armed with a 25mm Bushmaster autocannon for fighting off infantry
and TOW missiles used against enemy armor, it can be very useful when on the hands of a skilled commander but again becareful of its light armor as it can't take much punishment. Cost=700

Medium tank-- M60A3
The M60A3 Patton has been deployed to save operation funds from the need of expensive MBTs. Already highly mobile, the M60A3 packs some major firepower and it performs well in combat

Main battle tank-- Lepard 2A6 (finished)
The Leopard 2A6 variant made its way to be one most powerful MBTs to ever exist.
With revolutionary armor design and new weapon upgrades made it a serious treat to ISAF armor. Again, its alot more expensive than its counterpart. Cost=2750

The Hind-D is a flying bear. A very capable troop transport with strong combat abilities
made it a threat to the Apache for many years.

The Havoc is the Erusian counterpart to the ISAF AH-64 Apache.
Faster and lighter than the Mi-24 Hind-D, it packs good firepower and speed. Making highly effective
on both recon and combat missions. Cost=2000

Multi-role --Su-37 (finished)
The Su-37 was a fighter like no other when it first appeared.
The first aircraft capable of supermaneuverability made it an extremely stable fighter
as it can recover from stalls at any altitude. Weapons systems include QAAMs and a powerful autocannon made this fighter capable of attacking anything, putting this fighter in direct competition against the F-22A Raptor. Cost=3000

Fighter/attacker--R-M01 Rafale
The Rafale

Light fighter--F-16
The F-16 Falcon was designed as a low cost lightweight fighter capable
of performing multiple task. Unlike its counterpart, the Mir-2000, the F-16 is far more maneuverable making it a flexable, surivable combat aircraft. Cost=1300

Attacker--A-10
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is feared among ground forces. Capable of quickly mowing down ground forces with its 30mm GAU-8 Avenger, almost no enemy armor can survive its first attack run earned its dubbed name, the "tank buster".

Naval--F/A-18F (not buildable) (carrier based)

Bomber--Tu-95 (work in progress)
The Tu-95 Bear is Erusea's answer to ISAF B-52. Its main advantage is that its not jet powered thus making it cheaper and it could perform as good as the B-52.

High speed bomber-- TU-160 (finished) (XB-70 moved to superweapon)
The Tu-160 blackjack is the main spear of Erusian intercontinental bomber fleet. Dispite its high cost, its performance value proved very high thanks to its variable geometry wings. Erusian military government had high demands of such a bomber and decided to mass produce it even if in bankrupt conditions. Cost=5000

Well Aro, I'm really in need of SHP artist at the stage of development
but I'm also trying to learn multiple things at once, including mapping, AI modding, and terrain modding, currently SHPing at the moment
and created a few structures in wire frame but in autocad 2007 format.
I don't really know how to apply custom texture because of the complexity of the program. Some help from anyone would help my progress a alot.

I've been busy recently and made little progress, but I did improve my voxelling skill during the past few days with little free time on my back.
Anyway I just remade the Su-37 because the one I made and posted earlier looked like crap compared to a real flanker so I got to work and made a new and improved one.

I'm pretty much finished with voxelling units for this mod, just naval units are left for the making and I'll post them up when I have time to finish them.

Anyway this mod isn't dead yet and I'll be moving to a new place soon which will hinder my progress even more but it should be temporary. Wink
