Dunno...
*goes check the game boxes*
Bloody hell! EA published WW's games even when TS came out! Even though they had a very different logo, it still says "Electronic Arts"...
The RA1 box says Virgin Interactive as the publisher... QUICK_EDIT

Do you even know what that means? I could easily turn that word against you, while use against me would be meaningless and a complete violation of what the word means.
Anyway, Virgin Interactive sold themselves to EA. Westwood was bought up after they had financial problems... _________________ ... QUICK_EDIT

Wrong, the company who owned Virgin Interactive wanted to sell it for nearly a year, but refused to split the assets up. In 1998 they reversed this and EA offered for the American assets, Westwood came as a part of this deal. Westwood never had any financial difficulties, it was just a case of a massive company buying out the stock of a smaller one. QUICK_EDIT

Ah, so the popular story regarding financial troubles was all false?
At least it was just part of the normal life and death cycle of businesses, then. _________________ ... QUICK_EDIT

Westwood were incredibly successful, there's the possibility that the company that owned Virgin interactive was having difficulties, hence the need to offload VI stocks, but WW themselves were in perfectly good health, making millions of pounds a year, i think it was something like $4 million in the first half of 1998 (from the C&C franchise) just before the take-over, and this off games 2-3 years old (C&C1 & RA1). You people do realise Westwood was bought for over $100 million? They weren't in financial difficulties, they were one of the most lucrative games studios in the world when they were acquired by EA. In fact, I think that the deal for WW was a record at the time. _________________

The SCUD Storm part was pretty funny. Considering how EA took over WW that quickly...
